I solve problems...sometimes that I accidentally created.
Got a door ding at three weeks of ownership. And just love getting to watch the offender not give two sh!ts on camera.

I am looking to have a PDR take a look. My question, based on location, does anyone know if the rear wheel well panels are removed, will this give access to the location? Or if there is another recommended way to access this area? Would appreciate advice to give to the PDR tech before they potwntially go punching an access hole somewhere as I have seen done on other vehicles.

Driver side rear quarter panel, 5 inches aft of driver side passenger door.

This looks like a quick and easy fix by a good PDR person. I *think* they will be able to reach that spot from behind with the wheel well liner removed?

I had a similar ding on my M3 a few years ago right on the edge too and it came out perfect. Couldn't even tell it was there. Cost me $75 or $100 or something. Worth it.

Not able to be helpful, but I'm watching this thread since we have a similar ding on the passenger side rear quarter panel. Was planning on just leaving it, but if your experiencing getting it fixed is a good one, we might do that.

Man I'm sorry this happened to you. It's sad that we live in a world where nobody has any respect for another person's property anymore.

Hopefully they can PDR that. My only concern is that it's right on a body line.

Watching and I hope your able to get it fixed up.

Extra work for the PDR guy cause it's on a body line, but 100% repairable IMO based on some of the PDR repairs we've seen here.

I park my R1T in the boonies and warn everyone when they suggest taking my truck anywhere.. but hey, walking is good for you anyway ?

Should be direct access to that location taking the interior bed panel off.

Talked with Rivian support, and confirmed that accessing wheel well will present backside on the R1S. Getting scheduled for next week, will post meaningful pictures.

I did park on back row...away from everybody, so I thought.

A peer has the ridiculous Hummer EV and I have noticed that the HEV has a feature to put vehicle at max height when parked. They do that specifically to reduce door dings. I already submitted a suggestion to Rivian.

People are F'ing A-holes! I park in no mans land to try to avoid this and alas, yesterday, I went to In-n-Out, parked far away and someone parked REALLY close to my R1S, probably just to prove how superior they were. Thankfully no ding. Good luck on getting yours fix, fortunately it looks like an easy PDR solution.

Glad to hear you have access there. PDR is really effective when back of dinged panel is reachable. I am told PDR for aluminum is way more difficult than steel as Alu lacks rebound properties.

I have a tailgate ding in the R1T but after pulling the interior panels there is another Alu layer blocking back access.

Nice, please let me know how far up the well they can go! I have this tiny dent present when I took delivery. Unsure how much I should pursue getting it fixed, but if it's reachable from the wheel well, it's much more promising. My dent is a bit higher and further back than yours.

My body shop said aluminum, if that is the case, has no memory. Don’t think that would be an issue for that small a dent.

I now have two dents right along the upper crease on my doors. It's not from another car door... it is simply from my kids pushing on the panel to close the door. Rivian clearly used extremely thin shell panels. Never had a car dent like this before from an 11 yo pushing on the door. I am going to get both fixed... but guessing this is just one of the "features" that comes along with driving a Rivian. Now I have to remind my kids "don't push there" when they close the doors.

This is why when we park it at a store we park as far away from other cars as possible. It helps for 2 reasons...1) We get our steps in 2) Prevents this type of things.

I don't understand people. Looks like yours should be an easy pdr fix. Take a look at how Myles (my R1S) was molested. One guy just kept touching the car. It's funny but weird what some ppl do.
