    I believe the agreements Apple had with automakers REQUIRE then to allow Apple to take over the screens (or you don't get Carplay). This is why GM is revolting against Apple.

    I think you would be more frustrated if you had the adapter sent to you in the mail and were told "it doesn't work yet, wait 2 months for us to enable thing on the backend". At least the hard part is done. The easy part is sending out an adapter.

    I believe this is exactly why Rivian doesn't want to jump in bed with Apple. Apple wants control of ALL screens, the entire experience. Apple isn't going to build their own car... they are simply going to own the screens in all the cars on the road (so they also own monetization of services)...

    The Rivian is as much a "luxury vehicle" as your '99 4Runner... meaning it is not. (I had a '98 4Runner, 5 speed SR5... which I had never sold it!). I'd much rather have the roll down back window like the 4runner over a functional sunroof :)

    The speed limit on i40 is 75mph, which means most people are going 85-90. its difficult to go 60-65 on i40 without impeding traffic. I have also towed 7500# boats for over 20 years and have often towed at 75-80mph... never an issue if you have the right tow rig and things are set up correctly...

    As others have said... get your AC checked. I live in Phoenix. I originally had issues on the hot days but they are now resolved... in fact our R1S is now shockingly good at keeping us cold on 115 degree days.
