Got it, I didn't realize the USB stored all driving footage regardless of incidents/manual captures etc. Good to know! Thanks
Yes. DriveCam functionality was included in a recent update. I used it myself just a few days ago. In my experience, a 256GB flash drive only saves about a week's worth of recordings (more or less, depending on how often you drive) so you'll want to make a copy fast. You can't browse it from the car, need to plug into a computer.

Really sorry to hear that, R1S Man. I agree that is unacceptable. I hope that it was a faulty sensor issue that did not appropriately alert you to a rear door that was not fully latched rather than a fault in the rear doors themselves.

I have all the footage from 4 camera angles.
I call bullshit. There should be zero angles that actually capture escaped luggage. Post the proof.

Please share it with Rivian cause there's no way the back door opening while underway shouldn't haven't thrown up all kinds of warnings! Hopefully it's just something with your vehicle vs the whole line of R1S vehicles. It's also super dangerous to vehicles following behind you!

In comparison.. yesterday I partially unlocked one of my gear tunnel doors (not opened the door and lowered it down.. just unlocked it) before backing down the boat ramp.. I store the transom tie-down straps in the gear tunnel when we're out boating. As I proceeded to back down the ramp a huge warning popped up flashing "GEAR TUNNEL DOOR UNLOCKED!!.... GEAR TUNNEL DOOR UNLOCKED!!.." with audio warnings chiming constantly as well.

^ That's just crazy!!

No warnings at all?

This vehicle tells you when you fart.. and it didn't know your back door was open while you were driving

Ask and you shall receive.

I still call bullshit. On my R1S the liftgate goes to the sky if it's open and the tailgate would stop anything from falling out. I get all kinds of annoying notifications if it isn't closed, so you would have had to ignore those.

The suitcase hit the tail gate with great force, the tail gate opened, which causes the lift gate to open as well. They both opened. The lift gate and the tail gate both came open. No notice that anything was wrong before the suitcase hit the tail gate. There were probably notices after they both came open, but I was in shock, pulled over and closed them both. Then drove back to pick up my gear.

Yeah, the wife was thrilled. Especially concerned about her electronics in the back pack. I was quite embarrassed.

AKA suitcase hitting the liftgate probably damaged any sensors.

probably exposes a flaw that there should be more passive sensors aside from the latches that determine closure.

However one could argue the loud THUD of the suitcase hitting the liftgate should have been warning enough for you to check on it.

I still place this one in operator error. Like not securely tying down cargo in a truck bed.
