Great Tips on Tire Wear In Conserve Mode + OEM Warranty Coverage?

Sharing this good writeup that likely is advocating for advice others have offered in the forum including to absolutely make sure you are rotating your tires regularly.

One thing I thought was interesting was a recommendation for tire toe at certain suspension heights - especially for those that like to drive in conserve mode a lot.

Could save you a lot of potential tire wear and cost in the long run.

Edit: Thanks to @NY_Rob for pointing out the article specifically claims that Pirelli has a 50,000 mile OEM warranty on tires.

This is the first I have heard of this warranty and if true, Rivian has some explaining to do since folks have been shelling out big $$ on new tires that have worn so quickly.

Nope, they exempt themselves from warranty claims with this line on the second page
"This Treadwear Coverage does not apply to Original Equipment Tires". I'm not sure why OE tires are magically different and therefore not covered but if they are your original set according to Pirelli you can kick rocks.

The article mentions the Pirelli warranty for 50k miles, somewhat implying it could help. ?

The linked warranty document states the Treadware warranty excludes OEM tires, and for replacement tires it calls out that a Pirelli Authorized dealer must do the rotation every 5k-7k miles and "completed the Tire Rotation Record", among many other requirements.

Is that for the OEM tires or the "Select Replacement Tires?" I still think the warranty applies to OEM tires from my read.

But that is in the section "Select Replacement Tires Only" not the OEM tires. My read is they are differentiating between OEM and Replacement Tires in this same document and stipulating warranty coverage for each.

Well, to cut to the chase.. that warranty doc has Pirelli's USA phone number on it.. so I just called them regarding the warranty. They were very nice and helpful..

The OEM tires do not have a treadwear warranty, only a "workmanship/defect" warranty.

If you purchase the OEM tires from Tirerack based on your vehicle model that say "Size: 275/65R20 RIV Rivian, Elect" those will not have the treadwear warranty either, just the "workmanship/defect warranty".

If, however you purchase the Scorpion All Terrain Plus (with the raised white lettering) in the same size which does not say "RIV Rivian, Elect"" in the designation that will carry the full 50,000mi treadwear warranty!
