Seems like most of you are jumping to conclusions about the video based on the title without even looking to realize that the “why I sold” portion is a very small portion of the video. This is far more of a review with an extensive dive into the things that are excellent, things that can be improved with software and things that are simply inherent to the platform and can likely only be changed on future vehicles. There are chapters on the video as well to make it easier to skip to the portion you’re interested in.

Ya think? You posted an hour long video without any commentary, and are surprised that people are “jumping to conclusions based on the title”? ?

Being brand new EVers, we have learned a lot from from both Branden and Kyle's videos. We now feel somewhat confident in going forward with our EV experience. We are not as into the YouTube videos as we were. We now depend primarily on this Forum for additional information. We are also members of the "Rivian Owners Forum" which, by the way, doesn't hold a candle to this one.

The second half of the title addresses this.

Yikes, rough crowd. I say @branden should do his thing as he sees fit. If his content is good views will come if they are not then less so. I haven't watched this particular video but I doubt he was asking for input into our feelings on his You Tube brand.
In fairness he did. He posted his video here in a forum meant for commenting on and discussing things. That's the risk you take when you make content that you want people to comment on. Personally I don't really invite people to comment on my financial situation or my ownership of which vehicles I currently have but I would also challenge you to find a YouTube video I made on the subject anywhere let alone here.

Spoiler alert, no such video exists. People can't have it both ways, both sharing their opinions yet demanding they only get one particular set of responses.

Does not matter if he's asking for input or not. It's not a one-off video post. He has a channel, he wants to be an "influencer" and he's openly inviting people to follow him. He's promoting his brand for fame, fortune, ego, altruism, whatever. Feedback goes with the territory. You can't have it both ways.

Rough crowd. He clearly states early on why he sold. He also clearly states that it’s the best vehicle he has ever owned. The video is also split into multiple chapters so you could jump to specific topics you care about. It is a long video but you don’t have to watch the whole thing.

TLDR: R1T is best vehicle he’s ever owned. Hes selling for financial reasons and the fact that he truly doesn’t need a truck. Most things he dislikes can be fine tuned with software.

Glad you inside a TDLR, the OP could easily have done that at the start.

The thing that rubs many people the wrong way, myself included, is that if you couldn’t afford the truck why did you buy it in the first place? Having to sell it now because you want to buy a house doesn’t make sense to me because a home purchase is something you should have planned for in your long range goals.

I have made financial mistakes too, hopefully you learn from this one. Don’t let fun purchases get in the way of your investments or future plans. Get a financial advisor if you don’t have one already and get your long range goals planned out. Used R1Ts with under a thousand miles on them are going for the low 70’s. Cars are a terrible investment.

I would be surprised if you get more than 65 for yours TBH. Good luck in the future and I hope you seriously consider some more long range planning in your overall household budget going forward.

If you actually watched it, I gave quite a bit of constructive feedback to Rivian.
Why can't you write a few words in your original post to give us an idea if it is worth clicking? I have no problem with youtuuubers posting links to their content on this or other forums but doing so with out any context is a waste of space and I will not watch any such videos.

Wow. What happened to "if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all". It's Brandons money and he can do how he pleases. Some of you are acting like he personally offended you for posting a video and selling his truck.

Go touch grass, take a deep breath, and maybe get some exercise or get off the fucking internet.

I already said what happened to it. We were invited to make comments on it since he made a video about it that he asked all of us to watch. As far as the touch grass or exercise or whatever comments you can go ahead and concern yourself with my exercise routine just as soon as I make a YouTube video detailing what it is and ask you to watch it.

Until then let my trainer worry about it.

I wasted about 11 minutes of my life watching this video to learn he's selling his truck for a Tesla. I've seen several of his videos that have been linked to from here and most are just advertisements for whatever accessory he is adding to the truck. I agree with others above that this is just a clickbait posting.
