Honestly, I don't see how you transport anything in that bed anyway. How do you attach anything to the tiedowns at the front of the bed with the sides sloping up like that? If there are even tiedowns in the bed, that is. Plus they limit what you can put in the bed at all. It's got about the same utility as an actually pickup truck as an H2.

So true. Unless you are 8 feet tall you likely can’t reach over the bedsides in the front and trying to do it near the pointy end would mean a guaranteed trip to the emergency room. I’m sure they put tie downs but who cares if you have to climb into the bed every time you need to reach one?

See, there are plenty of things to drag Elon for without getting political. Also I could see this coming a mile away. I have had relatives that were like Elon here, or PT Barnum for that matter.

They are the greatest so they promise
Revolutionary stuff and everyone gets excited. Then they find out that creating a revolution is hard work and the fact that no one has done it before in auto manufacturing means it’s hard maybe even impossible or too costly to make
Worth it.

So instead of backpedaling and admitting your failure you keep up the bullshit artistry. Then when you can delay no longer you release the junk you made and pretend that’s what you were talking about all along. So much for that 14k towing capacity, pretty hard to do with a unibody.

This thing will be a truck like my nephew’s tonka Is a truck. Bulky, kinda ugly and you can’t actually do any work with it.

I really feel sorry for the people who paid 50-250k to Ol’ Elon here for that roadster thinking it’s getting rocket boosters on it. The “SpaceX Package” is going to be a turd with a piece of his latest busted rocket fused in the dashboard.

What happens when the giga cast get damaged in an accident? Cyberjunk?
That's a fair question. Since it's a cast aluminum frame, if it gets bent, it's probably a total loss.

I had one on order.. but will never buy another Tesla. I have never known a car company that is willing to screw over their loyal customer base like Tesla has the past year.

We got our Model Y last summer. With the price decrease (not including new federal tax incentive) its $13k less. I can't stand to see it in the garage. If it was my dog.. I would kick it everytime I walked by.
My '22 X Plaid is over $30K less with the price drops. Never again...

Never kick your dog! Have at it with your MY. Recommend large hammers

And this is why I'm here as a Rivian owner right now. So tired of the promises. Really a shame. I paid up for full self drive back in 2016....can I get my money back now? I don't even own the X anymore.
I hear you there. I had 2 MS and 1MX and got tired of the promises that never happen. Car quality also sucked hence the reason I had 3.

That’s some quick depreciation. I experienced the same on my MX. It depreciated $60k in 18 months. I try to convince anyone looking for an EV to steer clear of Tesla. I purchased a 23’ Kia EV6 for my wife yesterday and the quality is far above Tesla. Tesla has made enough cars by now that the quality should have improved but it hasn’t. I’ve also been extremely pleased with my R1T and wouldn’t ever consider Tesla again no matter how much they drop the price.

Regardless of the cybertruck, it does seem mega/giga casting is cheaper, faster, less error prone all around.
Reject rate for the castings is pretty high compared to other methods of production. Of course if you're just sending them back to the grinder to try again there's not much value lost.

“Transporting stuff in the bed” will face challenges? WTF other reason is there to buy a truck if it can’t do that? :CWL:
Have you seen the Hummer EV with the spare tire mounted in the bed taking 1/3 of the bed space?

Maybe similar to the $42,000 fender bender Rivian.
