I have a strange situation with my truck and was wondering if any of you experience the same thing.

How many button pushes does it take to open the gear tunnel doors when you walk up to the truck? Sometimes it's just one, sometimes it's 10-15 seconds of pushing before it responds. And even if I finally get one open, then I'll walk to the other one and -sometimes- it'll take just as long to open it. Other times it opens first attempt.

Same with the center console. The passenger side button seems far more unresponsive than the drivers side button. Sometimes the drivers side button will open with a single try, but never the passenger side button.

And the frunk, sometimes a button press works to open/close, sometimes I have to wait a second then hit it again.

Am I the only one experiencing this?

Sometimes a couple dozen on a gear tunnel door. Oh, but the interesting thing is occasionally my tailgate requires two presses, but the first press always flashes the lights. Second press will release the tailgate.

Mine is going to Chicago SC next week to hopefully remedy this same problem.

I sometimes have to press my frunk button twice if the car is locked (first press triggers unlock but not opening of frunk), but I thought I remembered reading that is being corrected in the upcoming update.

I’ve never had any issues with the center console or the gear tunnels not opening, so long as the vehicle is unlocked. If it’s locked and it hasn’t detected my phone yet, the gear tunnels are non-responsive.

Get this all the time and its annoying. Driver side gear tunnel worse then passenger. I have discovered opening and closing rear door on whatever side I'm on will let me open gear tunnel with 1 push after.

I find that making a parental threat to the vehicle helps things along as in “don’t make me take this phone out of my pocket to open you!” and it’ll unlock right then. :)

You have to let it know you’re not scared.

When i opened my current service ticket i made a comment about this, it's known, it's a problem / annoying, it's being worked.

I would bet it's around the Bluetooth keyfob and current state of truck. (Deep sleep )

Happens to me too. Very annoying. This, combined with the fact the truck likes to lock itself when you’re near the front trunk or tailgate, significantly impacts the daily practicality of the vehicle.

Mine behaves like this as well. The OTA update about a month ago resulted in my truck locking when I'm standing at the corners, like I would if I need to charge or open the tailgate. Frustrating behavior. The gear tunnel door release behavior has always been erratic for me as well. If the truck is unlocked it shouldn't need 3 or 4 button pushes to open the tunnel.

Another notch on this list. Does seem more problematic on the driver side.
