38mm on the new Variant wheels. 48mm OEM. That pushes the wheels out 10mm more over factory.

Not a dig. Real question. Are the 18 outer bolts merely decorative or are they also structural?Variant Wheels - Taylor (209.814.4903) They can answer all of your questions on construction, lead times, color choices, pricing, etc..........Probably 6 weeks...

They are aesthetically accoutrements and do not assist in maintaining the bead on the rim.......no dig taken. I'm sure they could make them without those for someone who wanted to shave another pound.....

Misquote from me. The tires move out 10mm and the wheels 16mm (you're correct). I'm starting to feel that Rivian spec'd the incorrect wheel dimensions for the tires and the suspension geometry and heights......16mm more over factory.
20x8.5+48 to a 20x9.0+38 is moving the wheel/tire assembly 16mm to the outside.

Yep. My buddy told me Dicastal is the largest wheel manufacturer in the world. Think they are one of only wheel manufacturing companies left with a facility in good old motor city.2022 Ford Raptor OEM 17” bead lock wheels are also manufactured in China.
Good product can come out of any country as long as the manufacturer is solid.

Anyone here an early Tesla adopter and had 21" factory wheels back in 2013/2014 on their Model S? Crack, bend, crack, bend. Wheels were made by Prime Wheel (a second tier wheel manufacturer). As soon as Tesla got bigger, they graduated to Superior Wheel (Mexico/Germany/Poland) and a lot of that cracking went away.

If you are selling your set of 5-20" rims, I would be interested also. I would be more than willing to travel to Chandler to pick them up also. Rivian couldn't get me 20'sWheels are in....wheels are on.....wheels are almost 3.5lbs lighter (yet .5" wider)....tires don't rub......Satin Bronze and they have exceeded my expectations of wanting a fully custom forged wheel with an off-road style. I understand wheels are like pizza, everyone has their own favorites, but I love them. Robert and the entire team at Variant Wheels hit a home run and were so great to work with. I believe from date of order to in your hands is less than 6 weeks or (aka s00n)
One-piece fully forged wheel. Available in almost any color.......20"x9" and they sit out 10mm more over the factory setting. I'll probably start a new thread, but wanted to get this out there as a truly first 100% custom forged wheel designed and built for the R1T. Made in the USA.

@ SD Any designs back from HRE yet? They are just over the hill from me, would be great to work with them but I know they aren't giving anything away over there. Did you get bronze on your Forest Green? Love to see that.
