All four front bags went off, it stopped immediately right in the middle of the road. Thankful we are alright, dialed Rivian immediately and they transfered to local 911, and the wait begin again

Have we got steel or aluminum here? Aluminum you don't repair (I don't think that many repair steel that much anymore either).

The body panels are aluminum. It'll be interesting to see what the repairs entail, especially with those side panels spanning from bumper to bumper.

Agree if this happened to any other truck that a body shop would pull that dent and repair it easily. The hardest part of the repair would be just matching the paint job.

I amost did the exact same thing a few months ago! There's a farm about a mile from our beach house. The cows are always getting out - daytime, night time. Black cow at night, ugh!

Not to quibble, but according to the Service Team, all outer body panels, including the side panels in question, are a composite of aluminum and carbon fiber. That jives with my memory from visiting the factory last Summer.

After the sheets were stamped into full side panels (four pressings for each), they were easily handled by two people. When examining the panels as they hung on the racks (as pictured previously), they seemed to look and sound like aluminum, as well.

Nope. The body is all aluminum, and the entire side is one stamping. There’s a picture in the thread here.
