I think this "child locks after an accident" setting is new? No mention of it in the notes. My locks were off for the update and this new setting defaulted to off also. I would want it on if I had the child door locks on.

Thanks. I assumed as much, just asking in case it was a known/reported issue.
This certainly looks like a Rivian side bug. The git hash for your currently installed version matches 2026.24.40 which is essentially impossible.

Applied it last night and it's been aces so far. Not mentioned in the release notes but I think they tweaked the garage door behavior. Previously, I could only get mine to open from the halo wheels (button in the settings worked just fine to close it). Now I can open and close from the wheel.

So I had an issue where the gear guard SSD is stuck in a formatting loop even though it worked once. Also this issue is still present in the update.

Did you get the .41 update?

What software version does your Rivian App show?

It’s on .41 now. Had the same loop issue in .40 and now .41.

Took the drive out reformatted and erased drive. Put back in working for now. But did the same process to start then got the formatting loop after 1 drive. We will see if the second reformat fixed it.

Mine still hasn't updated to .41 yet and my app shows the version has 2026.24.0 which is obviously a bug.

I had a weird issue with the usb drive yesterday but after another format (did an initial format when I first set it up), all has been good.

It could be the drive, have you tried another type of drive?

I know I had an SSD drive I tried using with my R1S and it never worked. Ended up using a SANDISK thumb drive in that, has worked great for 3.5 years.

I’m using this Lexar in the R2, works fine with 2026.24.40 and .41

Its a samsung T7 and it was working correctly in my R1T. Also it works corectly when plugged in to the computer. The fact it works then does not leads me to believe its the car.

So I submitted a ticket on my version discrepancy and they made an appointment for me tomorrow. They are prioritizing all R2 appointments. Not sure this really needed a SC visit (versus someone taking a look remotely), but since I have to go pickup my new keycards anyway, may as well have them check it out.

On to my third option for road cam a samsung flash drive. Plugged the T7 into my computer and windows said it had errors. Tried to reformat but failed.

So far so good with flash drive. Its been a few days without it going unavailable.

I was also losing drive connection so I replaced an Amazon Basics 2TB SSD to a Lexar 512GB JumpDrive. Hope it’s more consistent. I noticed the SSD was VERY warm to the touch when connected in the glovebox.

Same issue came up again and T7 stopped connecting.
