I would welcome knowledge and opinions as to whether adding PPF to my preorder will affect my delivery date. Thanks in advance.

If you make any changes at all it will likely change your estimate to “processing estimate” until the next time they update delivery windows in January. There is no way to know for sure if that will actually delay your order, however.

FWIW I had the factory PPF in my order from the first day they offered it and I still received a “confrim your configuration” email about 2 weeks after they gave everyone new windows on 11/1. Then confirming my build with my guide also changed the estimate on my account to “processing”.

No one can tell you for sure. Because this is a configuration change, your delivery estimate will revert back to “processing” and you won’t get any information until January.

My advice: leave it as-is, and get PPF installed after you accept delivery; also go with SunTek reaction over XPEL. Better quality, better gloss and clarity, and better warranty process.

Depends when your delivery date is. Last we heard PPF will not be factory installed until March of 2023.

I agree with the others, though. Get it installed locally. That way you have some control over the quality of the finished product. There have been a lot of issues with the factory installed PPF (gear tunnel, etc) on the truck already. If there is a problem with the factory option, are you going to bring it into the service center? How long will that take? What will they do with it? If you use a quality local shop that is well reviewed they will take care of any issues ASAP.

I wouldn’t make any changes unless it is absolutely necessary.

I thought about switching from 20’s to 22’s and my Guide was worried it would push me back from my April-June 23 window.

I decided not to get the PPF because, I would be getting a full wrap anyway.

I had PPF configured & got a Feb-Mar delivery estimate. One week ago I took a big chance and changed my config, removed the PPF and changed the color. Today I got the confirmation email and a guide assigned.

Yes, I confirmed with my guide that adding PPF would indeed effect your delivery date because they consider it a change to the vehicle - it would most likely push your date back.

Got delivery last week with front PPF
I for one would be very interested in a review with pics of edges, etc. if possible. If not, enjoy!

They started doing factory installs in Normal with XPEL employees in October according to Tim from XPEL

I have never wrapped anything, but I plan on keeping that done for a while so I figured it was good insurance to protect the fascia. All that to say that I wouldn't know a bad job from a good one. Anyhow it looks good to me. Took a few pics of the edges however it's actually raining today (quite the news in CA!!).
