Former USN Submarine Sonartech for 8 yrs, then a Software Tester (back in the days when companies actually cared about finding bugs and fixing them before releasing their software to the unsuspecting masses), and now I act like a Sr. Battery Systems and Failure Analysis Engineer for consumer electronics.

Would love to hear what everyone does for work, aka "the most interesting question you'll get asked at a party" . I imagine there are some really interesting occupations among us.

To start, I design software for big companies (UX/UI), I founded a startup in the automotive space, and I design/build websites.

After the past two days? Being an investor in RIVN seems to be my main occupation.

EE & IT degrees led to a "hybrid" career as VP Operations at a manufacturing control systems engineering/integration company. When I'm not managing projects/people, my hands on work is mostly IT engineering related stuff these days - plant floor network design/config, etc. Also a co-owner at a microbrewery, managing brewery operations and the outside sales guy, and overseeing the restaurant managers. I work 60-70 hours a week, love it.

I'm a Union Electrician working for a contractor at Intel's main research and development campus in Hillsboro, Oregon. I'm a foreman in the specialty field of control and instrumentation. I also do the telecom/date work for my company on site. I've been an electrician for 32 years and I never thought I'd make the money I do without having to wear a suit.
