Noticed today that there was some text on my configuration page that states you can change your config as much as you want basically and not lose your place in line...? was this always there? Obviously we know this is NOT the case AT ALL.

Rivian is probably wanting to get ahead of post 10/16 config change request. You probably recall that the email sent last week says config from 10/16 will be used to determine the delivery estimate.

With so many people tinkering with their config, this probably is to say you're on notice so do it now or don't whine about it after 10/16 and argue about the delivery estimate.

Just my thought....

It's always been there. After I first configured my Launch Edition, I used this to change my wheel selection about a thousand times until I finally settled on the 20" all terrains.

I beleive it has always been there; however, one needs to understand how the line is formed. It is not simply order date. In fact, I get the impression is that this is the last criteria used to determine when you will get a vehicle. The parameters used to determine your place in line includes, among other things, configuration and location. Then....order date. So if you change your location or configuration, you get placed into a different line of people sharing the same location and configuration. But your order date would be used to determine where, in that new queue you sit. That being said, I also think there are either some other, hidden sort criteria or manual manipulation going on. Then again, I'm probably worng and it is all done via magic 8 ball..."Will I get my truck soon?"...."Cannot Tell Now"

Save your place in line, but if you're at the front of the line and leave to use the bathroom, they aren't going to put production on hold until you come back.

This sounds right based on what Tony's told us and what I've observed. As far as I can tell, all the R1S LE pre-orders with Black Mountain interior received an updated delivery window of Aug-Sep or Oct-Dec. Specific delivery timing within that group is now driven largely by production batching rather than pre-order date, which is why we're seeing some 2020 pre-orders being delivered before 2018 or 2019 pre-orders.

Must be something from you LE Pioneers. My R1S Adventure configuration menu does not
look like that. I don't think I would be so lucky if I change my configuration.

How does one "opt" for the Explore package after Rivian discontinued it entirely?
