My '26 R1S came with four tie down points in the rear cargo area instead of the cargo rails and adjustable tie‑downs. I liked that feature in my previous R1S, and the rail systems are available on ebay and other used car parts sites. I have not dug around under the carpet of my R1S yet, but am curious if anyone has successfully retrofitted the cargo rails into a R1S that had the OEM tie down points.

I'm currently in the middle of doing this. I purchased a set of rails from eBay, which came with 2 sliders, but I bought 2 more sliders so I could utilize the cargo divider and also strap some down.

To complete the project, I need to create/use a part of the removed carpet/plastic that fills between the rail and the side of the car.

It was not hard, just remove the D-Ring bolts, tailgate flap, spare tire liners, and lastly the carpet/plastic board where the D-Rings were. All holes line up when you are placing the new rails in.

This is my progress so far:
