Will people call down lol... cant imagine anyone took me seriously last night with those posts but i know how some people takes things way too seriously so just in case most of last night was a joke.
Said with all due respect... People here are trying to be helpful to a fellow community member who came here with a question. It would serve your best interest to be straight with us vs. the "you thought I was serious?" routine. Many here are extremely generous with the time they take to answer serious questions and of course some fooling around is always fun... but when you come across as serious then pull the "I was just kidding" stuff it's a waste of the community's time. Piss off enough members and you'll be on everyone's ignore list and none of your questions will ever be seen or get replies.

i get it but when i make comments like proving you all wrong is worth 500k to me i would think most people with some sense could tell im somewhat joking around lol. ive made a few posts already about driving past 0 and changing out wheels and tires to get a bunch of range...so im on here being helpful also.

but go back and look at some of the posts especially the pictures...i think there was a lot of goofing around anyway in this thread so just playing back...also im going to go back to what i said before...you have to give some credit to everyone driving a rivian as they didnt get to driving one by not having any kind of sense.

either way yes it would suck if i lost a boat and truck into the water but it wouldnt be the end of the world if that happened...just thought everyone on this forum driving this truck would be in the same boat =).

and for those of you who really cant take a joke and really think anyone driving this truck wouldnt have common sense...using the rivian is the "backup"...there will be an f350 there to launch and retrieve the boat but since i will have such a good truck there i thought maybe i should try to use my rivian to see if it could do it.

lighten up guys...i think we all got to this point in our lives by not being too dumb.
So last night I was a too cautious pussy but now when the rubber meets the road you were just joking? You're full of shit guy. Don't talk tough if you don't have the balls to back it up.

jeez whats your problem? im not joking about using the rivian the put the boat in the water and pulling it out...but a lot of what i said yesterday was joking...do you think proving you wrong i actually think is worth 500k to me?

since you want only serious then here it is...im bringing 2 trucks with me...an f350 and the rivian...since there will be such a good backup i wanted to try to use the rivian to see if there will be any issues but if worse comes to worse and they go in the water ill be fine...its not like i havent lost this much taking risks before.

my main question was do you think ill have issues pulling this up out of the water but the more i look into it seems like i should have no issues...but everyones knowledge and opinions do matter to me and it all goes into consideration...not sure why it bothers everyone so much when i counter argue their opinions and also just because i dont do what you think is best doesnt mean im not considering what you say.

i guess you are one of those guys when told to calm down

My problem is your assertion yesterday that people who said don't do it were cowards or poor. I wouldnt care if you debated doing it without the attacks and insinuations of people saying no were little bitches or too broke to risk their truck.

Where I'm from that's not joking around it's shit talk. If you're going to talk shit then back it up. If you're just considering it and want the discussion do so without the insults next time.

Don't gaslight us all now pretending you don't know why you're being called out. Either back up the mouth you're running or don't run it.

Everything that involves a structural design has a design capacity hence the load rating. Then there's the safety factor up to the point of deformation/failure. Generally, that safety margin is upwards of 33% of design capacity. Don't know if the structural in automotive calcs translates the same way.
Launched boats plenty of times and I would be most concerned with the ramp grade and pavement condition. As someone already mentioned, the higher the tide the better.

My quick take on this as someone who had a much smaller boat years ago.

Driving around the boat yard I doubt would be an issue. Launching and pulling out a boat always caused me to worry. While the Rivian can probably pull out the boat without issue I would still rent a vehicle. As others have said if something does go south insurance will make sure they cover $0 and they have the lawyers to back it up as you are operating it out of spec.

If you do use the Rivian record it so you can show everyone that you are right and it was no issue!

I was tempted to hit the 'ignore' already based on this ?'s replies, but this thread is pure comedy gold. I'm waiting for the YouTube video about how he's selling his Rivian because it couldn't pull three boats at the same time or some other nonsense. ?

The Count says you've painted yourself into a corner and your only option is to tow both the boat AND the F-350 out of the water up the ramp... in conserve mode.
