I just hope there is no issue with trying to insert the charging connector and then having this activate accidentally. With many of the EA chargers, the connector will come from behind the front wheel and its path could cross that sensor.

Can I please have the power tailgate instead of this abomination?
My first thought was, “Wait, no power tailgate, but essentially the most complicated way to open the charge port?”

It does look cool! Just don’t know if that’s where the focus should be lol

Show me a video of Plug and Charge on an Electrify America charger, much more useful than this.

If I hear another car dealer talk about loss of jobs due to electric car direct sales Imma gonna hurl! Car dealerships are nothing but institutionalized mediocrity and waste. In the southeast where I live, they're mostly just make-work programs for ex football players.

If you look closely, there appears to be three little lines where the gentleman swipes to open. A capacitive sensor? Maybe gesture controlled so it doesn't open accidently? Definitely a complicated approach.

If your job needs to be protected by legislation, maybe we don't need your job.

So the first shrub that brushes against the driver's front fender while off-roading may pop open the charge port door? I'd be much happier with a modest "soft-touch" mechanism that pops it open enough to grab. Basically like decent gas covers.
