Now this is interesting! I'm anticipating having a Tesla to go with my Rivian eventually and I would rather not use adapters on a regular basis, but I don't need to charge both cars at once. So I was thinking of installing 2 chargers which could be selected using a switch such as this:

What you have looks a bit more ... heavy duty, though!
I looked at those and just wasn't sure about them so I can't really comment. I will say #6 wires are big and don't bend very easy.

Just got my install done by a licensed master electrician and his helper for $436.22.

The install included running a dedicated 60 amp circuit, the 60 amp circuit breaker and mounting the charger / making terminations.

I was extremely pleased with the install and how easy it was to setup the charger / pair it.

My vehicle just landed at the service center and is going through pre-delivery inspection.

I should have a Rivian s00n.

Inside the charger, the connection coming from the wall into the charger you have the black wire on the left, and red on the right side, should be the opposite
That's not really important. It's just getting the two phases to the charger.
I followed the instructions as I understood them. That being said, I am not an electrician. I know a lot about different areas but never claim to be one. I set my truck to charge at 30-32 amp when I charge due to it sitting there all night. I am thinking about next time I have the cover off, I will change the dip switch for a lower rating. I personally want to charge the battery slower but want to find the balance for charging to 100 percent over night if I am at lets say 20 percent at start. I don't really drive but maybe 20 miles a day currently so I am still testing how many days I can go on a 70 percent charge and then recharge to 70/85/100. I have a trip planned this weekend to Jackson, GA to see family so I will charge it Thursday night to the 100 and am hoping to get it to 20 Thursday afternoon.

As far as the wire goes, I had very limited options at Lowes and it was the weekend so no supply house. I found everything I needed and needed to get it hooked up as the wall outlet was like watching ice boil...

Edit: I probably should ask this question, Why does it matter about the single phase connection being reversed?
The phasing doesn't matter since it's residential (technically calle ssingle phase) 240V. All you need are the two legs which is what your have.

The bigger issue on your install is the amount of extra insulation removed at the breaker end. You either removed too much or if you removed the correct amount, you cable isn't in all the way. Either way, a simple fix in about 5 min and min be worth doing the next time you're in that panel.

Heavy-duty black foil, designed to stop light leaks. Ordinarily used for photography and theatrical lighting. About as easy to use as kitchen foil. Easier, actually. (Because it's stiffer.)

Tape it on with black gaffer's tape.

You're kidding right? Just unplug the LED PCB from the main board inside the charger...

48A OpenEVSE I installed myself. Unit is small, software is great, hardware is open source and completely repairable from a component level, and the cable is excellent. So flexible and never tangles.

You're a wee bit tight in that garage. I'm surprised I don't see a tennis ball hanging from the ceiling...

Initially and then it drops to probably $170 for second foot and $75 for each foot after that.

Wonder if I can get some input from the hive. I know next to nothing about electrical systems. We got the RIvian wall charger, and just had an electrician over to give an estimate for installation. Turns out our box in the garage is maxed out and can't support the 50-60 amps for the wall charger. Only choice is to run a dedicated circuit up through our two attics and into the garage from the electrical box on the other side of the house, which will be expensive, or else can double up a 110 line to the charger, which he thinks will basically charge at double the rate we'd get from 110v trickle charging (I may be butchering the explanation here). Anyway I take it this cheaper approach would essentially charge at 3-4miles/hour (or roughly 40 miles a night), as I understand it. I'm inclined to go with the dedicated 60a line, depending how much the quote is, but wondering if this makes sense and if people who have run into this issue in the past have thoughts. Thanks :)
