Have they demoed it and does it work well? Last time I checked, the self park feature was running into garage walls and poles. I wonder how well it can work without any radars or ultrasonic sensors. Just having the feature on the checklist doesn't mean it works well and can be trusted.

Why does a Mercedes have massage seats and a Ferrari doesn't? Different priorities. Rivian isn't the only 80k car without self park, there are lots of them. It's not really a sensical question.

Rivian does need to tweak where the lines show up on the camera, I feel like I bump into curbs a lot more with the Rivian than my other cars if I am just trying to guide based on the lines on the camera.

Yes our friends Tesla is brand new (2 days old) and showed us that feature yesterday. Was night time but it worked really well. Of course it was slower than if we parked it ourselves but that is expected.

Tesla Summon-like abilities would be great for parking in tight garages.
That does not exist and who knows when that will be available if ever for "Tesla Vision" vehicles. It took this long for autopark to finally arrive for Tesla Vision vehicles.

I've been using it and it's much improved compared to the older version of it, granted my vehicle is a "Tesla Vision" model with no sensors and if you pre-angle the vehicle it can be done reasonably fast, otherwise it's too slow, but apparently Tesla purposely rolled it out to be slow to test before apparently opening it up to be faster for real world situations. You can see a quick segment of it in action here.

I think you have Summon confused with Smart Summon and auto-park. I'm referring to regular/"dumb" Summon. Regular Summon (which only moves forward or backward for tight parking situations) works on my Tesla and other people's Teslas (so, yes, it does exist).

Yes, you are correct. Your vehicle probably has ultra sonic sensors and can perform summon, mine does not, it's pure "Tesla Vision". That feature is not available for these types of vehicles. There is no summon option even if you dropped money for EAP or FSD.

My R1 has a worse sound system than the ELS on my TL. When I was shopping for wife's car, we looked at Model S 60. There was a long list of things the MS didn't have or do better than TL, including speed. That's how it goes. No one or nothing can be better than everyone and everything.

My Casio digital watch, circa 1982, has far more features and was far more affordable than a Rolex Submariner. Which is ridiculous and unacceptable, since the Rolex cost 1000 times as much.

This forum can be so helpful at times, and then it's a bloodbath for no good reason. I thought this by itself was a reasonable question " Does anyone know if there is automatic park (self park equivalent in Tesla) is being planned anytime soon? ", but people attack your wife, your buying decisions, the name of your first born child, etc. Just focus on the question.
Thank you!

100% agree. This is exactly what I've been telling her and trying to convince. So far, no dice.
I understand this being a want, but why is this a NEED for her? Not attacking, just seems like a strange need. You say she's fine at parking, but then why the need for the feature? Is she at all insecure about parking or the dimensions of the vehicle? I'm with several others here who have used it more than once and no longer use it because it's error prone, slow, and frankly embarrassing to be seen struggling with.
