Do you drive with zero elevation, 45 mph average, high regen, conserve?
Just have to work on them. Took me a few months, but I finally got them to re-program my truck to show that it had 21's on it.I haven't had time to sell yet - will need to do so soon to avoid marital counseling. Big tires taking up lots of space in the garage.
Good you were able to re-calibrate, but also disappointing we as customers have to tell a fib to get it done. Maybe there's some background issue or concern with doing re-calibration, but surely there must be a compromise available. They don't want to do it for the sake of doing it for everyone that buys custom wheels. But, with the right story and ensuring them that you still have stock Rivian equipment on the truck, then they'll tend to listen more.
Great advice! Thank you.Good you were able to re-calibrate, but also disappointing we as customers have to tell a fib to get it done. Maybe there's some background issue or concern with doing re-calibration, but surely there must be a compromise available.
Mainly because they don't feel responsible to do it for people that choose to get custom wheels. They don't want to recalibrate every time someone switches wheels. Completely understandable. They could offer to recalibrate for a fee. Would be relatively easy money for them. In the meantime, a little fibbing might be necessary. Not a fib however, if you do actually switch from 20" wheels to stock 21" wheels, which quite a few have done.Good you were able to re-calibrate, but also disappointing we as customers have to tell a fib to get it done. Or make it available in software for the owner to change. Make the options what is or will be sold.Mainly because they don't feel responsible to do it for people that choose to get custom wheels. Might?I might do a "Controlled" experiment next week before switching tires. I will do a round trip of 50-100 miles with the 20 ATs and then the same circuit with the Pirellis AS and compare results. Will mix some highway and city driving and try to do it the next day at the same time. Will record results and see
Wow sounds like a rip-off. I think they are trying to discourage people doing it and taking their time. Should be an app featureI just bought a set of 21's on here from another member. I changed the tires myself, all to spec torque, etc...Rivian charged me $180 to calibrate the computer to reflect the change from the 20 AT to the 21's. Is this a common experience? I can't quite reconcile a charge to essentially change the setting in the computer.
Educate me, please.
any issue with your Birds Eye camera? I stopped my plans to swap when they started saying the cameras may need adjustment to the tune of $500….I just bought a set of 21's on here from another member. I haven't received it back yet. Shipping back to me tomorrow. I hadn't been told anything except things needed 'recalibrating'. Hence the fee.any issue with your Birds Eye camera? I stopped my plans to swap when they started saying the cameras may need adjustment to the tune of $500….
