I haven't had time to sell yet - will need to do so soon to avoid marital counseling. Big tires taking up lots of space in the garage.
Just have to work on them. Took me a few months, but I finally got them to re-program my truck to show that it had 21's on it.

Would use the fact that you purchased an inventory truck to your advantage. I did the same. Told them my original order was for 21's as that's what I wanted, but sacrificed to take the one offered to me with 20's, then went out and found a set of 21's to put on the truck after I purchased it.

Just tell them you bought a set of 21's because that's what you wanted originally, but ended up with 20's because you bought an inventory truck instead. Even though you still have 20" wheels, just tell them they're 21's when you call to make the request. They likely won't pay attention if they make you bring it in to program it. There's a chance that they could just send out an update to your truck.

They don't want to do it for the sake of doing it for everyone that buys custom wheels. But, with the right story and ensuring them that you still have stock Rivian equipment on the truck, then they'll tend to listen more.

My speedo was off about 5-6 MPH before I had it reprogrammed. Became annoying when trying to use Driver+ at 85 MPH as I was only going 80 MPH in reality and getting run over on the freeways. After reprogramming, it's only off by 1 MPH.

Good you were able to re-calibrate, but also disappointing we as customers have to tell a fib to get it done. Maybe there's some background issue or concern with doing re-calibration, but surely there must be a compromise available.

Great advice! Thank you.

I've been noticing about 3 mph off at 65, compared to the GPS speed, which seems roughly consistent with what you are seeing at 85.

Mainly because they don't feel responsible to do it for people that choose to get custom wheels. They don't want to recalibrate every time someone switches wheels. Completely understandable. They could offer to recalibrate for a fee. Would be relatively easy money for them. In the meantime, a little fibbing might be necessary. Not a fib however, if you do actually switch from 20" wheels to stock 21" wheels, which quite a few have done.

Or make it available in software for the owner to change. Make the options what is or will be sold.

I might do a "Controlled" experiment next week before switching tires. I will do a round trip of 50-100 miles with the 20 ATs and then the same circuit with the Pirellis AS and compare results. Will mix some highway and city driving and try to do it the next day at the same time. Will record results and see
Might?

Must*

I just bought a set of 21's on here from another member. I changed the tires myself, all to spec torque, etc...Rivian charged me $180 to calibrate the computer to reflect the change from the 20 AT to the 21's. Is this a common experience? I can't quite reconcile a charge to essentially change the setting in the computer.

Educate me, please.

Wow sounds like a rip-off. I think they are trying to discourage people doing it and taking their time. Should be an app feature

any issue with your Birds Eye camera? I stopped my plans to swap when they started saying the cameras may need adjustment to the tune of $500….

I haven't received it back yet. Shipping back to me tomorrow. I hadn't been told anything except things needed 'recalibrating'. Hence the fee.
