I’ll be going with the EC roof. Boeing has been using the technology on the Dreamliner for years now without significant issue. They did make a change where early Dreamliners only got semi-dark like it appears the direction Rivian has gone from the clips, but later changed to a near blackout option on current Dreamliners.
the technology is the same as in the Mercedes.Magic Sky Control and the Mclaren 2021 models. Not the Boeing tech.

I would hope technology has changed since using the Magic Sky application coming out in 2011. You would think they have better options out there like the mentioned Boeing tech.

I hope Rivian doesn't make it mandatory or have to wait 6 months or more like Porsche did with the Taycan for a metal roof.

I will get standard metal roof. Have a sun roof now and don't use it

It'd probably correlate well to convenience. My z4 convertible spends most of its time with the top down because it's so easy to do.
Yes. I had 2 SLK's and the hardtop with auto down was a snap. Had a Vette and a 914 Porsche with manual hardtops and too much bother. I'm showing my age. The 914 was purchased new.

When I see the costs of the different options, I'll be able to name a preference.

We never even open the cover on our Volvo's sunroof, and have a shade semi-permanently installed at the top of the Model X glass.

We're literally going to get the cheapest roof option because "meh"

No mention of the electrochromatic option with today’s news, only the glass panoramic roof.

I wonder if this means we will never see it.
