where is the San Diego SC? Miramar? Kearney Mesa? The guy who brought me my test drive said it was going to be in one of those areas.

The dark wheels just don't look that great IMO i think i would rather have them powdered in gloss black. If i wanted black wheels that is. But it does look like the bright wheels they put a tint on top of.

After seeing in person, did a set stand out to you? And are you changing your configuration? And thanks for posting.

Honestly I would prefer matte black. Less likely to show dirt.

Good question! This was the first time I've seen anything other than the 20s in person. Living in SoCal, having the beefy 20s doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me given the range hit. I do like to drive to the mountains to ski with my family and want something that can handle the snow without having to put on chains, but that is only a few times a year.

I was surprised at how sleek the 21s look. I do wonder what they would look like without the aero inserts given that they can be removed. That may be worth trying.

Overall, I like the look of the 22 darks the most given that it matches the black trim along the base of the R1T.

I haven't updated my configuration from the 21s to the 22s, but have gone back and forth on it. I may just get the 21s, remove the aero inserts, and get them painted black. That could be the least expensive way to go for the look that I want. What do you think of that plan?

That's exactly what I plan to do.

It sounds like a solid plan. I just worry about replacements for the 21s. Granted, things could be very different in 2 years time when you need new tires. There is alot of things to consider in such a simple decision. I know and understand that having the wheels powder coated or painted will be cheaper and the smarter thing to do. But I always say I will do stuff to my car and I never end up doing it. This way I make myself do it for the start. But getting the 21s and coating them would be the smartest thing to do for my needs....but unfortunately I don't always do the smartest thing. Just ask my wife...

thanks again for your honest input and pictures for people like us that have not seen any 1st hand.
