Regenerative Braking Error

I’m getting a Regen Braking Temporarily Unavailable message. Seems like this message is happening more and more frequently.

My wife drives our R1S much more often than i do and she says it happens regularly.

Any idea why this happens?
And why it seems to be happening more frequently?

Is it getting colder where you live? What % do you charge to? Are there hills? Mountains?

Are you saying regen is completely unavailable or reduced? If it’s the first, that is not normal and you should probably put in a ticket.

Happens regularly in hilly areas, especially when it’s cold and the battery isn’t warmed up.

It’s normal to experience it under certain conditions, high SOC, very long downhill descent or very cold temps among them (to protect the high voltage pack). Usually not something to be concerned about, just know that when in that state you will need to use the brakes to slow like a normal ICE car. If steadily unavailable, definitely contact service.
