I’ll still give it to them on a technicality.I'll remind everyone that when the R1 started shipping and Rivian claimed they met the first delivery target timeline, those vehicles went to employees, trade, influencers, etc. and not to the general public. As I recall it was another 3 - 4 months until the general public got any meaningful deliveries.
So hopefully those people get theirs in March or so and real customers in April or May.I'll remind everyone that when the R1 started shipping and Rivian claimed they met the first delivery target timeline, those vehicles went to employees, trade, influencers, etc. and not to the general public. I doubt that's true. Most people won't even know about it.What does it matter if most people are waiting for the lidar hardware
They will also go to those of us very early adopters who like pain, because we are used to it.I'll remind everyone that when the R1 started shipping and Rivian claimed they met the first delivery target timeline, those vehicles went to employees, trade, influencers, etc. and not to the general public. The kind of people who would buy a Rivian would know...I doubt that's true. Most people won't even know about it.
I disagree. I think a lot of people will buy them because they look cool and are a cheaper version of an R1S. Rivian will sell as many as they can make even without lidar. The kind of people who would buy a Rivian would know...
I'd consider your average Rivian owner to be more educated, more attuned to the vehicle, and more aware of its capabilities than your average ICE driver who has bought 10 RAV4s or CRVs in the past 30 years.
Gotta say, interior puts Model Y’s to shame.I don't know about May deliveries but it would be fun. If April happens then production vehicles are coming off the line so makes sense.
