I have been a working professional for 25 years and no one has ever said anything about my cars....
...As far as you know :) j/k

Its just an interesting subject since everyone who buys a new vehicle has a choice, albeit sometime very limited, the color of their vehicle.

It's a fact that overwhelming percentage of new vehicles are in the monochromatic hue range - enamel and metallic. I, like many here, own a white R1S. My 2nd white vehicle in 40 yrs. First was 1978 VW Scirocco.

I think that so many people just pick free color because it doesn't matter much to them. Often that's white or black. But for those of us, myself included, don't mind paying for the color we want; hence, this discussion.

I will probably never buy another white (and never have owned a black) vehicle. I am on my 3rd silver vehicle but when replacing that, will not be monochromatic choice. My most recent vehicle is the color of my avatar background in metallic.

My personal experience is that monochromatic colors are the ones you are least likely to change your mind about over time and in different lighting and weather conditions. White and silver also tend to be affected less when they get dirty.

Other colors might be attractive at first but there's also more of a chance you will grow tired of them or not like they way they look in certain lighting/weather conditions or when they get dirty.

I think the design of the car makes a lot more difference than the color as far as whether it looks "professional" or "sporty" or whatever. A black Escalade looks professional and a black Ferrari looks sporty. A black Cybertruck just looks scary :)

Speaking of black, I rode in an Uber Black from the airport the other night (a Tesla Model X). We talked about EVs for the whole ride, including a lot about the R2. The driver seemed interested, and one of his first questions was whether you can get one with black exterior and interior because that was required to be eligible as an Uber Black vehicle.

So does anyone know why Rivian doesn't do Red? Always been my favorite color for a car, with light interior.
All the colors are kind of blah to me - none get me excited. May end up just going white for the heat here in AZ. Go with practicality.

I llove the Canyon Red that is (was?) available on the R1. I suspect a red will be among the first changes in the color palette during the R2 refresh, whenever that happens. I chose LG and the light interior.

Having owned three white cars in my life, the most recent one being the R1T, I would disagree with the sentiment of it being impacted less when it gets dirty.

White, like Black, will show ALL the things. I think silver or gray tend to hide dirt best for those of us that wash our cars once a year.

The front of my R1T looked like a warzone from all the bugs on every road trip. At least the darker colors hide that better.

All the being said, apparently I went with the more "feminine" color of Catalina Cove. Though after the conversation I had with my R2 today, it told me its gender fluid.

My order I planned to cancel made it to Dallas so I had to go take a look. IMO, the Esker Silver with 20’s and the yellow calipers was pretty freaking awesome. Now I will avoid all work and spend the rest of the day convincing myself to make a poor financial decision.

This can't be legit, hahahaha, so assuming this is performative trolling, I guess maybe a 7 out of 10?

I ordered June 16th, received a VIN 7/11 and it arrived late last week.
