Let’s talk “nuts” for a moment… what style/spec lugs are used? Anyone considering going titanium? I got a set of AcerRacing lugs for my Plaid, but don’t know what is used on the 20” forged wheels. Anyone?

Thanks for the info . Now we know the bolt pattern , and we will need the center bore and the thread pitch of the studs .
And the studs , common threads are M14x1.5, M12x1.5 , M12x1.25 , could you verify ?

So the tire manufacture says the tires are 48lbs you weighed the rim at ~36lbs and the wheel and tire weighed 88. even with the valve stem and wheel weights the tire must weigh almost 3 lbs more than they are claiming. right?

Im putting Cooper Tires on tomorrow and will weigh the OEM tires and report back.

I don't know how much, but compressed air will add to the weight (if weighed after it has been aired up).

There is also the weight of the TPMS sensor, to factor in.

@zymolysis, all 20" factory options are forged.
Pretty sure the 'bright' wheel is flow formed, not fully forged. Haven't seen one for a while, the early one we saw was not fully forged.

Maybe. I don't have the Brights, and I'm no engineer. Just going off the word of the manufacturer that clearly states they are forged.

Yes, makes sense. I recall Tesla call(ed) their wheels 'forged' too....and they are not fully forged. Once we get one off a current car, will share updates!

Im putting Cooper Tires on tomorrow and will weigh the OEM tires and report back.
The Cooper AT3's in OEM 20 sizes are 11lbs more each!! However, they have a much higher tire operating pressure range than the Scorpions. Scorpions 50PSI and the Coopers can be run up to 80PSI.

I did two runs on my 55 mile freeway test track (some grades and flats) and found that I can gain back my lost range on the Coopers by running them at 65psi, which is where I have been at for two-months. Far more durable tire over OEM. More to come...
