Has anyone made any substantial contact with someone in a position that actually knows anything?

Im almost at my whits end and REALLY have to get a vehicle in the next few weeks and my current daily (BEV 19' Ioniq) just shit the bed and its dead, my other vehicle (Alfa) works flawlessly but its pretty low and a Pain for my 8 month pregnant wife. I have a pole star order but if I know my place in line Id be happy to either go thru with it or NOT depending on a viable/realistic date of a delivery of a R1S.

Kanundrum I see that you have over 3000 posts in this forum. I'm going to suggest to you that might be a bit excessive and you just might be obsessing over this vehicle in a manner that is less than healthy. Just a thought.

Surprised the VINs are as low as they are. They must have only done a couple hundred employee R1S deliveries, unlike a couple thousand R1Ts.

There was not an employee program for the R1S like there was for the R1T.

not for nothing, right before external deliveries began, the throngs of people complaining about the employee program getting 1st dibs was growing by the hour.

I have gotten multiple confirmations that my AUG-SEP will hold but in an effort to expedite as much as possible I've gone back to my bare-bones config and only the underbody protection as an option. Any extras (mats, survival kit, etc) that I want I'll buy from the shop later.

Has Your guide told you that those extras will slow things down? That’s really crazy if it does.

I dont have a guide yet but based on conversations with the staff at the Venice Hub and customer service _some_ items can delay delivery. It's not entirely clear which are gating and which can/will be delivered after the vehicle. So, to keep it simple and reduce anything like that I took it upon myself to simplify my configuration. The most important thing to me (right now) is having the vehicle in my driveway.

Damn that is beyond irritating. I was told the accessories would most likely come after delivery of the truck. But I guess to be safe, I may do what you did and just keep the config as simple as possible. I only care about getting the vehicle as well.

If trivial add-ons as such hold up delivery timelines, this is a bigger clown show than I understood it to be with other countless examples as proof.
