Whatever the case was, the number was not posted for very long. I've been on their page several times this week, including as soon as I saw the articles posted claiming 434 miles, and I've never seen anything besides the original 400 mile estimate.
With the R1, Rivian provided updated delivery estimates every couple of months. If you changed anything with your configuration, you would have to wait until the next time they updated everyone's estimates to see how the new configuration affected your wait time.
Almost, but I would say it's Rivian Blue that gets replaced by Catalina Cove rather than Red Canyon. They already tried to get rid of Red Canyon once and brought it back. I'd expect it to live on as an R1 exclusive color, and maybe as a special edition for the R2 like they did with Borealis on...
After reading that quote again, it sounds like the intent all along was to offer a replacement truck that was at least the equivalent (age, miles, specs) of the truck that was damaged. "New" truck does not necessarily imply a never before owned vehicle, just one new to the OP. While odd that...
Rivian has some extensive product placement in this new competition series on CBS, especially in Episode 3 which aired last week. There is also an ad that plays in standard rotation with kids playing with wooden R1 models and imagining them in surreal scenarios such as dodging dinosaurs. While...
Hopefully they just mean delayed availability like it was on the R1 Launch Editions. I settled for Black Mountain in my R1S to get faster delivery and would be fine waiting longer for my R2, but not at the expense of the LE bonuses.
Fair assessment, I had forgotten Rivian's current Autonomy+ plans are for highway driving only, not door-to-door. In any event, I am skeptical LIDAR will start shipping as soon as next year, and even then it may take several years to have a real impact on available features. The best approach...
After experiencing Tesla's full self driving over the past month, I've changed my vote. I'm impressed with what it is able to do without LIDAR, and don't feel the need to wait for Rivian's G3 hardware. The G2 hardware should already be a step above what Tesla offers, and there's always going...
If you submit a configuration to be built, your deposit may become non-refundable. However, just because you are invited to configure doesn't require you to do so. You can wait indefinitely for the configuration you wish to order to become available. At some point you may be given the...
I've been expecting to replace my LE R1S around the 4 year mark when the original warranty expires, but so far I haven't had any major issues with it that have required shop time, so I could see keeping it longer if that stays the case. The price of the R1S has gone up so much since LE I can't...
Nowhere do they say they are bringing Rivian Green back as a vehicle paint color. They imply they could use it for vehicle fabrics, but fundamentally this is just a marketing exercise in standardizing the color code used for Rivian Green.
The FM radio has long been one of my biggest annoyances with my R1S. Typically after being on for 30-60 seconds, the radio will shut itself off and then either turn back on after a few seconds or I can manually turn it back on. In the last week, this behavior has changed and now instead of...
I don't see any reason to cancel a reservation now. Rivian let R1 reservation holders wait years until their desired configurations were available, so why wouldn't they for R2? If they get to the point where they force a decision before the gen 3 hardware is available, maybe I'd cancel then...
I installed the update last night and while the maps are an improvement over what we had before, it made one of my biggest gripes with the UI worse. I've always hated how the Maps app zooms all the way in on the center display. I prefer to keep my map zoomed out as I use it for traffic data...
I remember getting my first Sirius receiver as an aftermarket installation in 2002, and by the time I traded in that vehicle in 2005 they were offering it from the factory.
"Your driver profile now saves your navigation and display settings for a more custom driving experience."
Hopefully this means it will finally remember my preferred zoom level. I hate how it always zooms all the way in when I go to the navigation screen when I want to see a broad traffic...
