Oh for sure - I'm a big fan of metric over imperial/'Murican! But in the context of driving on the roads, keeping the units of measure in your vehicle as is being used by the infrastructure is safer.I like driving over 100 (kph). Actually, I just prefer the metric system when riding a bicycle because it isn’t a big deal to ride at a speed of 30+ kph compared to 30 mph. And it is easier to calculate a gradient in your head using the metric system instead of Imperial. It is purely a personal preference and it aligns with the rest of the world. Plus, work in medicine is all done in the metric system.
I do wonder how the speed limit signs/images on the driver display are rendered - I'm guessing they are image files that get pulled up when a matching sign is seen on camera or map data says to load it. I will say that when I was in Canada, the display's signs matched what was on the road when I swapped settings to metric for "speed and distance".
