Ordered new 20” wheel with +48mm offset from Tirerack

Just ordered a set to put some Nokian’s on for winter. Was gonna go with Ram 2363 but this offset results in a virtually unchanged scrub radius so should handle better?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but would a 265/60/20 tire work with that wheel? I was really hoping for a different 21" option to come out, but I don't see it happening. I have at 16k miles and was told at my last rotation a few days ago that they won't make it to another one.

No - I will see what specs are in the box and report back. Nothing on tirerack and googling brought up nothing. Looks like a new product, and with the crazy offset seems likely it was made to target Rivian, so hopefully it is sufficient.

I’m going to go with 275/60r20 which gives almost identical diameter to 275/55/r21 and hopefully therefore avoid any need for a service center visit to reset the truck.

That's a 9" wide wheel. Factory is 8.5" wide. If you got the 275/65R20 tire, you'll have slightly less (but not noticeable) bulging of sidewall and about 6.4 mm more track (quarter inch) to each side.

It's less track width, isn't it? Stock tires will be 6 mm further in. Probably won't result in anything noticable at all though.

Offset (+48mm) is from center of the barrel. Positive offset is outboard of center and negative offset is inboard of center. So, respectively, from plane containing outboard edge of barrel to mounting surface of wheel:

Factory: 59.95 mm (215.9/2-48)
This aftermarket wheel: 66.3 mm (228.6/2-48).

So, compared to factory, these are set out further by 6.35 mm (66.3-59.95). Wider track total footprint/stance.

265/60r20 is 10mm narrower tread, and 10mm smaller diameter than the 275/55r21, so the difference is a little bit more.

If you guys are converting from the factory 21" wheel size, to 20", definitely go with 275/60R20. It's merely a 0.3% deviation from the 275/55R21 that your R1s are programed for.

A 265 mm wide tire on a 9" wide rim... you might not like the result. Then again, it might not be noticeable. Hard to say. I personally wouldn't.
