I wasn't a fan at first either but after 6 months and 20,000 miles I don't notice it anymore.

Wow, so much shade from this forum! FWIW, I agree with you 100%. I know it's completely subjective, but I also hate the white steering wheel. Looking into way of replacing it or maybe dying it. I'm not getting mine until next month, maybe it will grow on me.
It will grow on you..maybe get some ceramic interior spray for it and the center console to keep it clean. Or at least you will not notice it as much over time.

Someone needs to tell RJ to streamline production and just stock black steering wheel covers. The Ocean Coast looks terrible.
I actually totally agree and when i moved up my delivery by not getting ocean coast, that steering wheel made me feel better about my decision.

I actually wish my white steering wheel had more white to it.

I was all over the prototype interior at the LA auto show. Really wish they could have made the lighter wood work.

They have a vat of the white stuff around for all the other parts, why not make an air bag cover?
Because it still costs money to design, make, inspect, inventory, and manage different parts.

I agree that the OC airbag doesn't look great and it would look better with the black. Same for the headliner and upper trim pieces. Just the white seats would look way better and I probably would have gone for that instead of the black if it was an option.

It would also be great if they could have a tan/brown interior option too. :)

I don't care for it either, but to each their own.

Sure, but if all we care about is saving Rivian money there's some lower hanging fruit that I think Rivian is addressing already.

In any case, OC isn't something I'd consider for a few reasons but a tan (on the orange side of tan) interior would be nice, similar to what we saw in the R3X.

I’d take that new R2 steering wheel in any color! Purple! Hot pink! Whatever!

if its about streamlining production and lowering costs, then yes, im all for it. if that were the main driver then they should have one steering wheel for all the interior options. i think that would aesthetically look fine. whatever helps drive costs down, improve production efficiency and get Rivian profitable is good.

Hated mine and finally did something about it.
plastidip…covered everything well and sprayed 4 layers of plastidip.
it‘s a bit too black but I still prefer it this way and the great thing about plastidip is that I can remove it at anytime without any residue

I have OC and the steering wheel color bothers me even after all these months. Like others have said you will start to ignore it but for me it's an eye sore.
