The item itself is real, but the likelihood of production is not. Is this more or less real the Elio? (I'd say that the latter is technically further along in the development pipeline)

These are likely what Aptera would refer to as an alpha prototype. It technically works, it shows the direction of what they are looking to produce, but it has a long, long way before it's producible in volume.

For instance, I have about 50 parts that I've designed for the Rivian R1S and R1T. On just one - the Seat Back Tablet Mount - I'm at revision 27 or something. It's just two pieces of plastic, a bolt, and a nut. There are literally thousands of parts of this thing that are likely nowhere close to good enough to deliver to a customer. This is just pure product development, there are a ton of other considerations that need to be worked through. Honestly, it's mind boggling...


I am interested in where he wants to take this though. Sometimes discretion is the greater part of valor. Hopefully not in this instance.

Who is crazy enough to “purchase” one? Is this not the same company that was working on a hydrogen semi truck and deceived the investors? I remember reading about when they pushed their semi truck down a hill to shoot an ad because the truck couldn’t move under its own power.
