There are a few tips to help use the navigation screen better. It took me a bit to realize these features

this is also thanks to @Dirty_B and this thread Hidden Zoom Buttons

1. Zoom button comes up if you tap the screen. Makes zooming easier than pinching while driving

2. Click on the direction in the top left corner to reveal all directions, SOC and time at arrival.

Ugh I’m disappointed in myself for not realizing I could drag down on the “next turn” pane.

Right? I was amazed that I couldn't see the estimated SoC upon arrival. I was relegated to canceling and restarting the route in order to see the estimate! Now I feel dumb...

You kind of still need to do that. When you pull it down like this, it only shows the initial estimate. If you’ve used more or less power than it expected, this estimate does NOT update ☹. It’s not quite useless, but it is if you’re towing.

So is this why people complained that their estimate never updates? Mine does here and I'm pretty sure always has. I'd still prefer it to always display it though.

Yours updates? I’ve know about this display since I got my truck, but the last long road trip I went on, this SoC estimate definitely did not update. I could look at this estimated SoC on arrival display, cancel the trip, restart it, and have a vastly different new estimate (assuming it was windy or something).
This was a few updates ago though, so it’s possible they improved this?

99% sure it changes, but it doesn't seem to properly estimate based on actual consumption so I ignore it anyway. I'm good about doing the mental math on if I need to slow down or have buffer to drive faster. Last long trip was 190 miles from the charger and got home with 11 miles left.

I just tested this on my morning drive. You are mistaken. As I was approaching my destination, my GOM was reporting 192 miles of range in the instrument cluster, but the nav was still reporting I’d arrive with 194 miles of range. Two miles off on a short trip. The fact that it’s a little off is fine, but it 100% is not updating.

odd ive used the heck out of this it also shows your charge stops and also gives updates based on mileage. i have had little complaints with the nav only reason why i think apple car play would be nicer is there are so many times someone texts you a location or you pull it up on your phone then have to type it into the rivian or tell alexa.

I thought it didnt update as well…but I can confirm now that it does…as I have clearly seen my SoC change during my last few trips.

I feel like one of the recent updates has it update on occasion for the SOC.
historically it didn’t and I liked to see the estimate vs where I ended up being
Not sure if it was the most recent update or the .31 update when I noticed it seemed to change - but not all the time
