This is the core of what I’m saying - the BMS now reports significantly less capacity than it did prior to the update, which is what’s impacting the guess-o-meter (I don’t think anything about that calc has changed - just the inputs to it). These screenshots should help make very clear the impact of the update on the BMS’s reporting of battery capacity; it should be pretty obvious when the update was installedThe miles of range numbers are literally guesses. That could change from any small tweak to their guess-o-meter heuristic. It's not significant.
A change to how battery management works is obviously significant. We should discuss that and battery percentages or kWh, not estimated miles of range.
It sounds like you're saying the update reduced the usable kWh. That would protect the battery more long-term but obviously reduce total range for someone going 100%-0%. It wouldn't necessarily affect charging speed, that is probably based on more sophisticated systems than just cutting the speed down at 80% or something.
