I am thinking that my key fob battery may be on the verge of dying.

I recall seeing a video from an owner that showed the current battery
status of the key fob. I believe this was shown on the driver's display.
Anyone know how to access this. I can't find it using the left hand
steering wheel buttons.

Go into settings > access where you view/manage the users and access cards, fobs, paaks… you’ll see a battery icon with the fob that shows battery level.

Would you please say how long your battery has been in use. I have seen a wide range of answers on the forum. Mine last 4-6 weeks.

I'm finding that I'm having to change out the battery every two or maybe 3 months. We don't drive very much and don't use the fob very often so disappointment with how often I'm finding the need to change it. Curious to see what others are finding too.

Mine lasted 10 months and I carry it every day.

My Fob battery is original since delivery day Jan 20th 2023.. .so 9 full months so far.

I checked it 2wks ago because I was having Fob issues.. it was right at 3 volts which is still pretty close to 3.2V for a brand new lithium coin cell.

Everyone with fobs that seem to be eating the batteries check the update screen in the truck to see if there is a fob update. They sent one out earlier in the year that was supposed to help with fob battery life. Mine seems much better after that update.

I've been using my FOB as my primary key everyday for 14 months, and I'm still on the original battery. I just checked the FOB battery level in my vehicle and it says "Low battery" so I ordered a few CR2450 to keep as spares.

That's funny. Or not. I just did a chat with Rivian service to see what they would say. I told them my battery lasted about 5 weeks and asked if that was normal. They gave a canned response about depends on the usage and age of the battery. I get that but I would think 4-6 weeks would be abnormally low. I wonder how they would respond if I said I had to replace the battery every 24 hours.

I'm on the current .38 software and no updates shown for the fob. The Amazon batteries I have been using go down to about 2.8 volts after a week. They keep working but the vehicle shows low battery on the fob. I bought a newfangled Energizer battery last Wednesday to see if the issue is cheap batteries. The Energizer shows 2.87 volts today(5 days) and the truck shows low battery for the fob.

I'll just wait for my first service visit and address it then I guess. Batteries are cheap and this isn't really a big deal in the scheme of things. :)

I have gone to the above screen, and I do see a fob icon, but nowhere do I see a battery icon. Lower down I see where I can turn the fob off or on, but again no battery icon. I assume I am doing something incorrectly, or not reaching the proper screen.

Just another datapoint but my fob showed a low battery almost immediately after purchase, I replaced the battery and a week later it said low battery again I hung out on that screen for a bit and the indicator refreshed back to full. It does this to me occasionally from time to time no issues with it working and if I just give it a minute it always returns to full after some time. It’s possible some of you are hitting this same thing and your batteries are fine

Go to Settings/Drivers & Keys - select the driver with the fob and expand the key list. Your FOB will show battery condition -
