I got a similar email, although presumably because I'm already at the "confirm your configuration" stage (as of this week), mine says I can confirm by mid-September and still get the brights.

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
Huh. Wonder why they’re being discontinued. Thought they were pretty popular?

I wanted them because I thought they looked great with Red Canyon. They don't look great with many other colors. Red Canyon is also a less popular choice. I can see why the 20" Brights weren't overall very popular, I however would really like the Red Canyon with these because it'll look great and be unique.

I have a White R1T loaner with the 20" darks and when I compare it to my neighbors Limestone R1T with 20" brights... my unbiased opnion says they do not look as good as the darks. My neighbor even has a set of darks in his garage that were the OE wheel with his truck and I told him... "I'm not gonna lie, I don't like them on your truck." :p

My R1T came with the brights. Definitely not my first choice. It was an early R1 Shop I want my damn truck choice at the time. That said, they looked much better in person and I actually kind of liked them. But I prefer dark wheels overall and initially used the vinyl blackout stickers and the finally powder coated them glossy black. They're MUCH better now. LOL. I actually like mine better than the OEM dark because those are two-tone and mine are a single color.

Anyway, not surprised the brights are now RIP. Just not a popular choice.

Looks like the brights will be a rear wheel set up. I the only reason I got the brights is to make the brights parts white.

So no more brights, and no more compass yellow. Anything else hit the chopping block?

Wait, so what does this mean for those of us with brights who still don't have a full size spare and actually want one?

For me dark (black) wheels are the only option in any car.

Are you me? I even tried to sell my brights before I took delivery, but once I got them, I found out they looked pretty cool. I actually think forest green, red canyon, and midnight black look best with the brights. Since then I've been playing with the vinyl and then hyperdip and couldn't be happier.

I think a bigger reason for discontinuing is that Rivian can easily up-charge anyone who would've otherwise chosen the 20" brights. With only the darks available in that style, it'll likely push more people to spend the extra $$ on the darks vs standard.
