  1. Spotted: New R1 wheel and tire option coming?

Yesterday in Sunnyvale, Ca. Thatā€™s pretty far from Irvine, but thereā€™s an office in Palo Alto
  2. Spotted: New R1 wheel and tire option coming?

This looks like a unique Rivian OEM wheel with Goodyear tires
  3. Latest email update on Manual Tonneau Cover delivery

Do we know if manual tonneau covers are shipping or are they still on hold? I'm waiting for the one I paid for with the vehicle for over 6 months now. I don't even have an estimated delivery date.
  4. 60A breaker melted while charging

It's probably a loose wire, but I've also heard a lot of counterfeit breakers and electrical parts are hitting the market. Make sure you buy the replacement from a reputable parts distributor. Also, if the wire is aluminum you need to use grease on the connection.
  5. Solar Panel for Overlanding

Iā€™d bet youā€™ll use more extra energy from the main battery getting to your destination hauling all this gear than youā€™d use running the main inverter and powering your equipment that way
  6. California ***SOLD*** Center caps for 21” wheel - $60/set

DM me if interested. Local pickup only. Santa Clara, Ca
  7. No OTA for tire size changes

It is all software and totally doable. Just needs to get done and doing stuff takes time. Either that or they enjoy charging labor hours to flip software settings.
  8. No OTA for tire size changes

My guess is that your vehicle will need to go into a "service mode" or something as such to change the tire diameter. Rivian would rather not let you go into a service mode on your own. If we were to be able to change tire diameters ourselves they would need to create a consumer level service...
  9. Creaking Sound When Initially Accelerating

Rivian has offered me a different solution. Iā€™ll be picking up a brand new truck in a couple of weeks. Iā€™m hopeful that this will get rid of the creak, but still cautious.
  10. [Closed] One binding agreement x two cars = 2x tax credit?

I'm in a similar boat. However, I had two reservations because I intended to use the second on a max pack. Now that the max pack value really isn't there I ended up lemon lawing trading in my first R1T and used my second reservation for a new one. While getting two federal rebates probably...
  11. Goodbye 20" Brights

I wanted them because I thought they looked great with Red Canyon. They don't look great with many other colors. Red Canyon is also a less popular choice. I can see why the 20" Brights weren't overall very popular, I however would really like the Red Canyon with these because it'll look great...
  12. 21” spare with 20” wheel

My truck came with 21ā€ wheels and I got a matching OE spare. Iā€™m considering getting a set of 20ā€ brights, but donā€™t want to buy a fifth one as a spare. If I were to get a flat on the 20s would it be ok to mix in the 21 spare? The tire diameters are a bit different. Seems like it should be ok...
  13. 21” tires and snow- winter travel

This was last winter at my place near Pinecrest lake in California. I used chains for a couple of days, but so did at least 80% of all the four wheel drive trucks up there. It was a super heavy storm. I may never use the chains again, but I was sure glad I had them on hand. Pro tip: The chains...
  14. 21” tires and snow- winter travel

In the back. Thatā€™s what the owners manual recommends. The owners manual doesnā€™t recommend any tire chains on the 20s, fwiw
  15. 21” tires and snow- winter travel

I've got some experience in snow with 21s. They work well on plowed roads. I bought these chains and they fit great. Needed them to drive up a steep grade that was not plowed. 21s without chains are pretty good. 21s with chains are unstoppable, but not necessary under most conditions.
  16. need help...very frustrated should i push for lemon??

Iā€™ve lemoned two cars in California. The rule is that service has to fail four attempts at fixing the same problem or the car spends more than 30 days in repair for that problem. Iā€™m actual past five repair attempts on fixing a front axle issue with my R1T right now and am considering asking...
  17. Discount Tire Selection Beware

Did they offer you the Michelin's that are rumored to come out soon? https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/new-michelin-defender-ltx-m-s2-coming-soon.15077/
  18. Creaking Sound When Initially Accelerating

Here's an update for those interested: 5th service - new washers again. New hubs ("bearings were defective") I'm about 3 weeks after this 5th repair attempt. As usual I drove away from the service center with a silent front end, but now I'm starting to hear the creaking come back. Still...
