Rivian R1T R1S "Electrical Hazard Possible" issue message IMG_3955

- Yesterday the R1T's heating stopped and it started blowing cold air, although the screen showed heating. Then I got the above hazard. I re-booted the car, the error does not go away and the heating still does not work. Rivian service is looking into this. Has anyone else seen this? Any input is appreciated.

I've seen people post that before. I think there's a problem with the isolation for the HV system.

That’s pretty much every day in Seattle. Hope you get it resolved soon. Let us know.

I know the margins need to increase, but this is a heck of way to get people to buy those rubber all weather floor mats.

BRB, checking to make sure the yellow Rivian logo on my mats isn't conductive

Update - The R1T is at the service center (150 miles away). Apparently, the technician who can work on it may not be available for 2 weeks! Also, Rivian policy is that once the car is ready, it is the owner's responsibility to pick up the car or get it towed. "Ingress is Rivian's responsibility, egress is the owner's responsibility. If the problem is not covered under warranty, both ingress and egress will be the owner's responsibility". A rental car was set up in lieu of a loaner, but no rental cars are available at this time.

First time I’ve heard that rule.

One small advantage is you’ll get to see if they’ve actually fixed it when you pick it up.

Is it an advantage? I'm not so sure. Let's workshop this...

Option A: You drive 150 miles and see vehicle still has issues. Rivian agrees to keep vehicle and work on it. You now get to drive another 150 miles back home, without your truck, and look forward to driving another 150 miles back in a few days/weeks to repeat the process.

Option B: You drive 150 miles and see vehicle still has issues. Rivian won't keep vehicle. You must take broken vehicle away and setup a new service visit, some weeks/months in the future.

How is that better?

To be honest, I’m not sure it’s better. But I was sure pissed off when I found out the work wasn’t completed moments after pulling my truck off the tow truck.

Obviously a local SC is better.

Reminds me I need to call Rivian to confirm they’re not going to give me the run around on my tickets before I commit to 10hrs worth of driving: 2x5hr round trips. Ugh. I’d be furious is they were like “yeah those metal on metal creaking sounds are normal, they all are broken like that”

Plus gotta make sure they have a rental ready or I can’t go.

Wonder if it is related to this notice about sealing the battery

I am not sure this is what I experienced. They explained to me today that the heater went bad and blew one of the fuses on the battery. It will be covered under warranty. But, it will take time, as the technician who does this type of work needs to come in from another SC. Rental car until then. Hopefully, next week (??, ??)

Agree. Neither is good.
