Late 2023 early dual motor performance max pack valued at 55-60k trade in. 24,000 miles.

Front passenger side impact on wheel/axel/bumper/panel

Not drivable.

Off the top of my head the following come to mind as needing repair:

body/cosmetic
Drivetrain/axel/wheel/air suspension/hydraulic damper

How many air bags deployed? That other car looks way worse for the wear.

We’ve seen less damage called as totaled, I would say just looking at that picture 75/25 it is totaled.

This looks minor, but wasn't, looking at the other car. Likely totalled

None of my airbags deployed. I believe the order vehicle was going at least 50 mph speeding in a 30 but cannot prove that. All of his deployed. I was going 5 mph when I was hit.

I was just wondering because of the suspension components like air suspension etc. It threw a ton of errors when hit and I was barely able to move it.

Yeah I believe the other car likely is totaled. He was definitely speeding IMO and blew past a school buss with it's caution lights on and made no attempt to brake / turn the vehicle away. I don't see that kind of damage from going 25 mph.

Good luck with it all. Error codes do not surprise me, I’m sure several sensors in that corner and behind the wheel are not happy.

Hope everyone is OK, looks like the Rivian did its job protecting the cabin.

Yeah, no one was hurt or at least the other driver said they were fine though we’ll see if they try to play games with insurance. This was on a city street with backed up traffic so I was pretty surprised he hit me as hard as he did. I didn’t post the photo of his vehicle but the entire front end is smashed. I imagine he was going 50 mph inna 25-30 as this was a really dumpy part of town.

There is a post in this forum talking about the first R2 crash with 110 miles on it.

Seems to indicate it was totaled, your R1 looks worse. 🤷🏻

This is estimated at $15k with a “likelihood” to be slightly more, but far from a write off.

Depends on your insurance’s appetite for payouts. Reality is that arbitrary.

But R1 is body-on-frame while R2 is unibody. That might make a difference.

Well, here's another anecdotal data point for you although not 100% apples-to-apples comparison...

My 2023 R1S w/ ~50k miles on it was hit on the charge port and wheel by a p.o.s. Mazda CX-5 which was totaled while my Rivian repairs cost $33.5k. See below.

@A_E - In my opinion... Totaled. But thats just based on one angled picture. More pictures across the front/side would help.

What I think I am seeing is that the the frame rail on that passenger corner is pushed in.

Frame straightening on EV's is not usually smiled upon.

Wow, what a coincidence. I just talked to this person who had her R1S fixed at the same shop I'm going to, and the damage was very similar by her description. As we discussed, that corner requires a really massive amount of cutting and welding, most likely. She said the estimate and time were spot on, the repair looked perfect. So maybe my estimate is also at least close.
