Did it really take 4 weeks for the train from Illinois to Seattle for your custom builds? We were originally quoted an October delivery date at purchase, but knew it might slip slightly. I was told the VIN on Oct 17th and that the delivery process would start shortly. Was not expecting the last day of October I'd be told to expect the car to be in transit for 4 weeks. Is this the standard time to get it to the PNW?

Yeah, it's slow. Enjoy the wait.

when did you order? I just ordered one 2 weeks ago and the time frame is the standard 4-6 weeks which I don't believe for a second.

If you ordered of the shop the implication is that the vehicle has been made, but may be anywhere between Normal and your service center. Both vehicles that I've gotten off the shop took about 6 weeks. I also know some folks who lucked into a couple of days because the vehicle was already at the SC and inspected.

Canada may be an entirely different beast. Do trains even go to Canada? Do you need to wait for the great lakes to freeze over? :p

I didn't order from the shop since they did not have any Red ones. :(

Sept 23rd or so. We knew late October (to early Novemebr) was our 6week window. The main issue is if you've been following Rivian Tracker you'll know they didn't start making the Tri's again until 2 weeks back. So they could never hit the 6weeks they estimated right off the bat (lead time, manufacturing time, qa, delivery time, deliver center qa).

Maybe it's because I've been in supply chain for the last decade that it just seems so off. If you follow Rivian Tracker you'll see when your build has started, then add about 2.5 weeks for manufacturing and post-build QA. Then delivery team(s) will reach out with the various estimates.

I have/had a delivery scheduled for this Saturday. Got a text 30 mins ago about rail yard congestion and date TBD. Lame.
