My anti-theft device used to be a manual transmission. Some of these aspiring thieves aren’t too bright.
i especially don’t like being tied to a charger in the middle of the night on roadtrips in areas you’re unfamiliar with…wish the charge point had an eject function (I don’t think it will even go in drive/rev with it plugged in) so you are a sitting duck!

.45 ACP right hip.

Not a lot of car-jacking here in Southern Oregon because that is kind of the norm here...
?
Desert eagle . 50 AE ?

Let them have truck or drive a Corolla are also options.

You can revoke access to the key the carjacker has using your app. Not entirely sure what that does while he/she is driving. I assume the car won't just stop in the middle of the road...but, it won't go anywhere once put in to park. Probably too late by that time.

Surprised no one mentioned the Sound the Alarm option in the app. Again, not sure if that works while the car is driving? Perhaps someone can test. Also, have not heard the alarm before. Hoping it doesn't just use the horn because then no one would notice.

You're locked out of all those controls while the vehicle is operating. I think once the vehicle is in gear, it doesn't need the key again until the next drive cycle, but for sure if they just had the keycard it'll make it inoperable when they park somewhere. But, that's probably a really good way to end up with a car that has a lot of damage on recovery.

My thought is that most carjackers will not be considering what vehicle it is, and will be thwarted by their own stupidity when they try to get it "started" and moving.

? The "perfect" compact, light weight CCW for one handed close quarters quick draw in a vehicle.

Agreed with Zoidz... I honestly don't expect a carjacker to be able to figure out how to drive it.

My guess is their wouldn’t know what do do. Just open the door, leave open when getting out and allow them to get in while running away. They won’t be able to start or figure it out and you won’t be around for them to consult. They will leave.

Don't want to dismiss the OPs concern but the odds of this happening are extremely low. However, if it did happen give up the keycard or fob. Phone app will show current vehicle location. Lose your phone too? Hopefully you have a 2nd driver assigned and can follow vehicle location on their phone
Great idea, call my wife, she has the app in her phone. As for the bear spray, good idea. How about just tell them, all that is needed is to tell Alexa to start the motor! To turn off the motor you say oh shut up.

My guess is if you call Rivian they know the location as well can stop the truck.

Or lets make a program that has Alexa say, please stop the vehicle and get out at next corner within one min. to avoid an all wheels lock up.

Unless they want a chauffer, that is my choice.

Not to mention figuring out one pedal drive!

How about telling them, if you can get this damm thing going again we can both go somewhere. It always crashes the driver app, and go on and on about geeky stuff and that the EV is just a bad choice.
Keep in mind, I do not think such is the case, but a dump carjacker will likely fall for it, rescue successful.
