For the past few days, my wife said that she thinks the car is on at night? Whenever she goes to the garage in the morning and go to work, she said the Rivian is "on" . She said she can hear the AC or "the car is on" when she woke up in the middle of the night. Proximity is "off" for at home. I"m not at home at the moment to check this.

She did not charge it the last two nights when she noticed this and she did not pay attention to the miles remaining on the app. At first, she thought the noise is coming from the home AC unit, but it is not.

Drinking coffee too late in the day? (Possibly the S and your wife?)

Is she hearing battery fans and thinks it's the AC? Probably not if it's unplugged....

Our garage is very hot even at night. 100 degree plus, do you think the vehicle would wake up and turn on the AC automatically?

Check the usual things. Is a seat belt buckled? Is a door ajar? Is she carrying her phone into the garage? (Even with proximity unlock off, the car will detect the phone and wake up). You can check from the app to see if it's asleep.

check the vampire drain from the time you leave it to the time to check it. based on what others have posted, id say the average battery drain is about 1-2% per 24 hours. i've done this test many times over multiple days and i average about 1% loss per 24 hours.

definitely check if any seatbelts are latched, that seems to be a common culprit.

I don't think the AC will turn on without a connected phone nearby. I've always used proximity so I'm not sure what it's supposed to do with it turned off, but my guess is if her phone is also linked to the S it still "wakes" it even if it doesn't unlock it and do other stuff.

Agree with others to check all the basics first. Doors, frunk, seatbelts.

Check the doors this has happened to me a couple times and it ended up my wife didn't quite close the passenger door as they were hard to shut at first.

There've been about 300 threads on this topic because the seatbelt was left buckled in (or something like a dog harness was left plugged into the seatbelt). I'd triple-check those, first. You can also look through the window - are the screens on?

If the batteries get that hot it might. I don't know what the threshold is that Rivian uses. Typically I'd expect it's like >45C (113F) though.

good idea about looking thru the window. I will tell her to do it later to see without her phone with her.
