It seems like they knew this was the reality for Canadian orders long ago and just never put it in words. That is very shitty.

They should have just focused on the US for the first couple of years, then entered the canadian market. Hell they didn't even have a customer service person for canada until what, this summer? And it's just one guy!

Agree 100%. Once they accept a preorder, those people begin impatiently waiting. It’s just human nature. Since they DID accept those orders I think they should give you the option of taking delivery in BC with the knowledge they won’t come pick up your truck if it needs service. At least it gives you a choice…. Still sucks though.

Or maybe not… Im in Quebec and got the “processing” message too… But with one Quebec pre-order holder getting a dated estimate, it could mean they think Quebec will be second to BC… Did anyone in Ontario get a date?

Anyway, I am not surprised, its pretty typical Rivian. Best case scenario IMO for January 2023 is a new September to December 2023 estimate update for the very early Quebec and, maybe Ontario, holders. Im not optimistic: I say they will say 1H 2024 and push back later orders to 2H or even 2025 – who knows what it will mean for our price protection. Plenty of other options will be around by then anyway.

Very happy I stopped believing anything they said a long time ago: got my green Yukon Denali with all the bells and whistles this week after an 11 month wait – its not electric, but it’s a BEAST – perfect ride to wait for an EX90.

Yeah same here with the 'processing' message. But, yeah it might not mean anything, but I am pretty confident they are not getting anything delivered to this side of Canada before 2024.

They are no where with their logistics in regards to Canada, and they knew this long time ago. Just seeing the lack of progress is a big indicator.

I stopped believing in Rivian's pie in the sky deadlines too, which is why I am glad I took delivery of a Model S. I wasn't planning on keeping it, so I have been critical of it, just because it's a Tesla, but it's starting to grow on me and I am starting to appreciate and like the vehicle.

There is an RS forum member from Toronto, ON, who received a date of Jan - Dec 2024. Which pretty much confirms nothing is happening in Ontario before 2024.

I've canceled my preorder, Rivian is highly unlikely to open a service centre here within the next five years. Tesla doesn't even have their own facility here. They rent a bay in another shop.

Got the same email, and yet I'm in the province of Quebec which is the California of Canada. Doesn't make sense that they would delay so much here.

I'll be patient, but if something else comes first I'll just cancel the R1S.

FWIW, I had switched from auto to manual a couple of weeks ago and I'm also Apr-Jun. Looks like that's the window for us in or (whatever they deem to be) close to the Richmond SC.

Thanks for the info. It doesn't quell all my rage but it helps. Were you previously Dec-Jan as well?

Mine is now Jan-Feb 2023. No changes to my order except for switching to the Manual tonneau cover after the announcement. Was originally Dec-Jan, so a month push isn't too bad.

April 2019, almost 4 years now. So, definitely a factor combined with my proximity to the SC here.

In BC with a R1S order in October 2021 in LA Silver - 2024 delivery date. Not very encouraging.
I'm less than 100km from Vancouver service center.

Will keep driving my Mach-E and keep my older ICE SUV.
