That’s what happens when you buy insurance from a Democratic insurance company owned by George Soros. I ditched them and went with AAA.
First of all, that is not true. George Soros does NOT own Progressive. The Vanguard Group is its biggest shareholder. Second of all, it doesn’t necessarily follow that if Progressive was owned by Soros, that is the reason rates went up.

I just got me Renewal for Jan/24, it went up $90 for 6 months.

Explanation was worded as this:
”The claim experience on your make and model of vehicle has resulted in an increase to your vehicle rating group for comprehensive and collision coverage”

This is probably why many are seeing increases for their renewals.

I haven't put my order in for R1T but been checking insurance. Rivian Insurance (Nationwide) is $328/monthly with $500 deductible. I currently have Tesla Insurance for my Y Performance and X Plaid and pay $389/monthly for both $500 collision, $100 comp deductible. They will not give me a quote for the R1T w/o a VIN. Tesla will insure non-Tesla cars. Hopefully it's cheaper than Nationwide once I get my VIN.

Wow, the quotes I just got for insurance living in LA was almost $6k/12 months for my R1S & RAV4.

That’s for CA minimums with $1k deductible.

I ended up going with AAA since it was easier to have 3 adults listed on the insurance card.

Mid 40's no claims living in 90802

I'm on Progressive $1000/$1000 deductible

It's $1450 for/6 months (My E-tron was $850 last year)

but when I shop around it is isn't even close, State farm wanted $3,500 wtf
Geico used to be the cheaper one but not anymore

and now with this stupid 15 days underwriting rule, changing to a different company is a huge PITA also.

That is if you can find one that writes a new policy.

All insurance is a huge joke in CA. I have friends paying off the mortgage because they dont want to pay over $20K/yr on home insurance. They back up to a regional park - fire hazard...SMH

CA needs a new Insurance Commissioner.

As others have pointed out - price comparo needs to include deductible & coverages. We have Sate Farm and they were $1000 less than Rivian insurance, with higher coverage limits

Bumping an old thread just to say WTF. I got a quote from Rivian Nationwide today on my 24 R1S with less coverage and it was more than double. I had to ask if they accidently meant yearly, but they confirmed it was a 6 month premium. Why would Rivian partner with a company that clearly does not want Rivian owners as customers?

Current - USAA $553.34 / 6 months
Deductible $1000/$1000

Injury - $100,000/$300,000

Damage - $100,000

Uninsured Injury & Damage set to same

Rivian Nationwide (Same deductible, but with state minimums for limits) - $1,316.62 / 6 months

Not a specific number, but i removed my 2020 MY yesterday and added in my 2025 R1S Dual Max and my insurance dropped $1000 a year. Its now only $18k a year!! 6 cars, 4 kids, 2 cars in SD which is expensive.

Yikes... That's a $3k/car per year. Is there an exotic sports car or RV mixed in there??
