Since the last couple of updates I noticed my automatic wipers no longer are functional, even if I engage them manually. When I do, 5 seconds later the green wiper "A" icon, goes to a grey slash wiper icon. It's truly not a function anymore, and it's annoying!

That sucks. There were some pretty severe storms today and mine were working well. The Rivian is a pretty great vehicle to drive in strong rains I've found.

My auto has not worked how it does in my Polestar or Volvo. Mine has done how you described from day one. It should be you put wipers on auto and forget it. car wash mode should disable and then enable it.

Same issue here since we purchased the vehicle. I’ve done a hard reset at the advice of a service tech, but that did not work. I read somewhere else that people have experienced this after having their windshield replaced by a 3rd party - something to do with the calibration of the sensor - that needed to bed fixed later by Rivian.

I have a few things to get addressed so will make an appointment and ensure the 300 mile round trip to Denver. If they can solve it I’ll report back. They are scheduling close to a month out right now…

Was this ever fixed? Just scheduled mobile service on my 8 day old R1T for this exact issue.

I just picked up my R1T today and same issue. Hit a rain storm on the way home from delivery and was like hmm, clearly I don’t understand this thing.

I had the rain sensor replaced on mine because of this issue. It’s near the rear view mirror. They replaced it with a new updated design.

Yeah, I just got this issue this morning. Original windshield. It worked two days ago and this morning, it didnt turn on like it used to once it started raining. Did my first soft reset and it didnt fix it. Worked fine for 16k miles. Guess I will put a ticket in.

Was this a service center visit or were they able to do it with mobile service?

Just started having this issue. When I select any of the auto settings for the wipers the icon turns green and the wipers go one time and then the icon grays out and the auto mode seems to auto-disengage. The fixed modes (sprinkle et al) work. I put in a ticket. My hunch is the sensor went bad and the system disengages auto mode when it can’t detect the sensor.

I had this issue. Brought it to the SC and they did a recalibration. Just software. I'm not sure how long it took as they worked on several other things in the same session, but I was out in two hours and all is well. The SC manager said it was no big deal--I got the impression it's a pretty routine problem with a straightforward fix.
