I’d rephrase that as ? or get off the ?!This is the week...it's eitheror ?...so keeping with Aaron Rogers until then: R E L A X
If you are telling me that I should accept the fact that Rivian is going to run their business with the same level of customer service as a Federal Agency that purposely delays its responsibilities then I probably am out. I too don't expect to receive a vehicle until 4th quarter but I can still call out Rivian for lack of communication this close to the dates that they set for things to start to happen.I can tell none of you have ever bought a silencer or full auto gun. While I may or may not have bought one (or more) of those, I do know that the wait to have the transfer approved by the BATFE can take a long time. My wait hypothetical wait times might have been between 4 and 12 months. At least you haven't given the full purchase price to the seller already as would have happened with these hypothetical firearms purchases.
You'd know that BATFE got the paperwork because they are exceptionally good at cashing the $200 check for the tax stamp right away. Then you would expect to hear NOTHING until the seller receives the approved transfer paperwork with the cancelled $200 tax stamp affixed and gets around to giving you a call to come pick up your new toy. And that's if everything goes correctly. Mess up on the transfer paperwork and you won't know about it until the BATFE sends it back to your for correction. That usually would set you back only a couple of weeks, unless there's a bigger problem than just getting the caliber wrong or forgetting to sign the forms.
If you can't stand the wait, get your $1000 back and move on. I'm already expecting to wait until December for my R1T. If I get it sooner, surprise!
*Suppressor. ?I can tell none of you have ever bought a silencer or full auto gun.
Curiosity solved! My age is the main reason I would buy now. I can no longer wait. A now or never situation for me. No more delays. They offer a 7 day, $1,000 mile return program, so I feel I can get most of the information I need at that time. Other reasons I would purchase now: mileage on my current vehicle, I "want" one, I have enough disposable income to afford one, and Rivian has solid investors.I get the enthusiasm of those that preordered 2 years ago but in all reality would you really accept a vehicle when so much is still unknown? I'm not in the financial position where I can afford to make a decision without good information.
I'm really curious as to why people would accept a June delivery given the concerns I raised above?
Tesla started this crap ... of order the vehicle and pay for it and the. Come down and pick it up without ever seeing it. It’s total BS. Unless your really wealthy and have disposable income... these trucks are expensive.Interesting thread. Here is my thoughts. If Rivian called me today to offer my vehicle I wouldn't accept it. I need more information, I need to see the vehicle, I need respected "honest" reviews, etc... I'm really curious as to why people would accept a June delivery given the concerns I raised above?
The other issue with this, even with the 7 day/1000 mile return, is that once you get the vehicle there is that emotional attachment to it. If there are things you do not like, but are not failures or reliability issues, you are more likely to simply "live with it".Tesla started this crap ... of order the vehicle and pay for it and the. I think they are trying to alleviate this concern with the 7 day 1000 mile return policy.Tesla started this crap ... of order the vehicle and pay for it and the. Come down and pick it up without ever seeing it. It’s total BS. Unless your really wealthy and have disposable income... these trucks are expensive.
That's deliberate, of course. The other issue with this, even with the 7 day/1000 mile return, is that once you get the vehicle there is that emotional attachment to it. If there are things you do not like, but are not failures or reliability issues, you are more likely to simply "live with it".
