I hope one of the lawyers in the house can pitch in. I often sign a piece of paper on scuba diving, sky diving and other diving trips noting that if I die, I won’t hold them responsible ( like my ghost has nothing better to do). Anyway, a lawyer told me a while back that regardless of what I signed, if I die due to their negligence, they can be sued. I wonder if Rivian misuse the data or someone they shared it with misuse it so that it results in harm to the owner, Rivian can lose a lawsuit. If anyone knows what kind of protection we may have in the absence of an offline button, please do share.
You also sign away your right to sue them or participate in a class action suit. Your only remedy, per the contract you sign, is arbitration. I’m seeing this in more and more legal agreements these days. Definitely concerning to me as it significantly impedes the little guy from holding big corporates accountable when they aggregiously abuse the public trust.

I think I read in the forum one of the owners completed the purchase without signing it but I can’t find the post.

Just FYI for the meat of the thread, I’m not driving much and losing about 6 miles per day (2% of battery) when not driving at all. I’m on 2022.15 software.

Thanks for sharing. That is good news. Do you think that means 2.4% (3 KWh)/day? or it consumes more at night?

I hope Rivian is still working on it. 3KWh is still significant for me.

You can email them within 30 days of signing your contract to “Opt out of Arbitration”. Just decline section 14 of the PBA.

I'm out of town for work until tomorrow night, so I unplugged the truck this morning and we'll see how much we lose over the course of ~36 hours. Will update!

Edit: I am also on the latest software update now.

It sounds like it is sitting in your driveway/garage? not airport? in case it does things differently at home.

A better test is over more than 24 hours. I have a proportionally larger loss the first 24 hours compared to the time after that. On version 2022.15 I lost 9KWh or 7% over 96hrs as I previously stated in this thread. This is still about the same in the newest version for me comparing a 48hr sit. There is going to be a lot of variance based on outside temps I would assume. Gear guard still always off for me as well.

I’m not seeing that. I lost 6 miles in the first 24 hours and have now lost another 5 in the past 16 hrs. I have to run to the store in a bit, so this round of testing will end at 40 hrs.

Agreed, but that would mean letting it sit for more than 24 hours. Who would ever do that to their Rivian? That is flat-out abuse! :CWL:

Ok update on my test. Left my truck garaged for 36 hours. Started at 70%, ended at 67%. This is much better than I was experiencing before. 1% every 12 hours is acceptable. It's still a lot of energy to be using, but it's livable.

Something I noticed: I checked on my battery a couple times while away and I had a "wake up" button on my app that I had to press. I had never seen this before. This suggests to me that my truck was never actually going to sleep before... I don't think this was a recent iOS update...
