You also sign away your right to sue them or participate in a class action suit. Your only remedy, per the contract you sign, is arbitration. I’m seeing this in more and more legal agreements these days. Definitely concerning to me as it significantly impedes the little guy from holding big corporates accountable when they aggregiously abuse the public trust.I hope one of the lawyers in the house can pitch in. I often sign a piece of paper on scuba diving, sky diving and other diving trips noting that if I die, I won’t hold them responsible ( like my ghost has nothing better to do). Anyway, a lawyer told me a while back that regardless of what I signed, if I die due to their negligence, they can be sued. I wonder if Rivian misuse the data or someone they shared it with misuse it so that it results in harm to the owner, Rivian can lose a lawsuit. If anyone knows what kind of protection we may have in the absence of an offline button, please do share.
