I have to admit this actually surprises me. I thought that when they said "priority updates" what they meant was that connect plus subscribers will download the update over cellular immediately while non-subscribers would have to connect to Wi-Fi to get an immediate download.

Did not anticipate it sending to connect Plus days before, regardless of connection type
And why would you think that? Rivian didn’t say priority over cellular.

While I agree with you, they are only enforcing what they said 90 days ago when the trial started.... I'm not a subscriber and hate the wait

Can someone who has actually tried please confirm what actually works while tethered to your phone without Connect+?

Not really an advantage to get updates first. You end up being beta testers for the rest of us. Gracias.
So many have been upset at the poor QA Rivian has of their software releases with all the bugs and resets needed to try and get things right. And Rivian had let go of so many of their user experience staff that people thought that may be a contributing factor. Now Rivian has people paying them to test. I think it is a brilliant move by Rivian!

I think I’m caving in and about to purchase the subscription! If Rivian continues to introduce monthly themes but requires software updates, that would be the primary reason for me to keep the subscription. As it stands, I don’t find much use for it beyond that.

It seems that I’m unable to proceed with upgrade. I keep getting a "Something went wrong" message on the Upgrades screen, both on the app and the website. I need to enable the in-vehicle purchase setting, but it won't turn on. :) About to talk with Rivian.

I’ll keep you all updated on whether I receive the software update after subscribing.

You’ll get the updates just not as fast as a C+ subscriber.

I agree. I was hoping that the Halloween theme will kick off for everyone but it seems it is strictly for 2024.39 and above :)

I'm used to receiving the software update just 1 or 2 days after the release lol
Plus, the YouTube videos featuring the Halloween theme are killing me!

All streaming works fine with the hotspot option (I've set it up such that my hotspot turns on automatically when I am in the vehicle - see instructions in other posts for this) - All remote features on the app work fine (condition the vehicle to a certain temp, lock unlock etc.) - Gear guard live will not work
