Rivian, please update your app to allow for easy adjustment of the charge current. It was so easy to do in the Tesla app and I wish I didn't have to go through such an awkward process to do so in the Rivian app. Thank you

P.s. I'm in an offgrid home and so adjusting charge current is often necessary to adapt to changing levels of sunlight, home battery state of charge, etc.

I don't find it too difficult. From the main screen, select the green Energy tile, then scroll down to Schedule and select it, scroll down a little bit on that page and you'll see the section to adjust amperage.

Further, I find it frustrating that you can't even see how many amps you're drawing. It does show kw, but even that is flawed as it doesn't show the actual draw from the wall. I have my EVSE set up to allow 40A @ 240v, so that would be 9.6kw, sometimes a bit higher in winter as the actual voltage at my house is a bit higher in the winter (245v). The truck shows 9.2kw most of the time, sometimes dipping to 7kw for no reason.

You can do it from the schedule screen, assuming you're using your off-grid home as your location you charge at, and have a schedule set. That setting applies to every schedule, including the current one.

But really, the better approach for you would be to have an EVSE that works with the rest of your system instead of having to do anything manually.

I was having to manage charge rates with two vehicles when I have my Sierra at home, since I don't have the capacity to charge that and another EV at the full rate. Way happier after I set up the dynamic balancing hardware on my wallbox. I don't have to even think about it anymore. Just plug in and leave everything at full rate.

Have you looked at Emporia monitors as another option? With their Vue monitor and charger, you can charge only on solar, using only the excess that would ordinarily go back to the grid. If you are off grid not sure if it throttles back once batteries are full, but if so that extra would then be delivered.

Agree with the OP. Should be right under the charge section in the app.

glad to see some others would find value in Rivian improving the app in this respect. Myself, I can't set up a routine as things are always changing through the weeks and seasons and power usage.
cheers

I have one of those pretty inexpensive Mach 1 L2 chargers off of Amazon. It's wifi enabled and pairs easily with the smartlife app, which is what pretty much every generic "smart" device out of China works with, so no extra apps. You can adjust output and see real amp draw from the app.

We just installed an emphase system on the house, but I can't justify the price for the compatible smart charger that automatically adjusts output, so I'm just going to manually adjust my cheapo charger as needed.

It would be nice if emphase offered some smart home connector so I could automate my existing charger, but obviously they don't want to do that because dollars.
