I don’t think that’s a reasonable comparison.

Short of a document like you described (after-the-fact prenuptial agreement?), the law already establishes what will happen if @SeaGeo should end up in divorce court. Both parties are already aware of these laws and have a rough idea of how things would go.

There is nothing like that if the manufacturer of an always-connected vehicle goes out of business. It would be nice to know that the leadership of the company cared enough about their customers to provide a way to keep the vehicles running should the servers they connect to go offline permanently.

Think of it as being like a corporate will with the customers’ vehicles as beneficiaries being cared for and maybe it will make more sense.
Take a deep breath. It was a joke!

I fully agree with you. about the anxiety related to the potential for failure with a startup. I was just trying to make a joke.
My bad. I didn't pick up on it.

No worries. What is the old saying, If you have to explain a joke, it wasn't a good joke.
Tone doesn't make its way through written text very well either. I have a very dry sense of humor, so I've learned to rely heavily on emojis.

Really?! Our brains work sooo much differently.
Of course they do. You're an engineer.

My son is a mechanical engineer at Boeing and his wife is a mechanical engineer for the US patent office, so I'm familiar with the difference. It's OK, we still like you all.

In the middle of detailing my Sisters Ioniq 5, looking at the way they drilled her license plate warped the whole front of the bumped, they practically took a impact wrench to the bracket.

I will 10000% reject a delivery if they drill the front bumper with a license plate. I dont care if I waited 4 years, I have multiple notes in my account not to do so.
I really want to register my future EV trucks in Florida rather than Washington because of crap like this. Yuck

Looks like for me it will be 7600 in tax and 916 for registration. I'm in torrance. My config is 79600. That's about what I was expecting. Your tax will vary by your zip code. Registration could as well. I've owned 3 trucks, California adds a commercial charge and fees vary depending on the weight of the truck. They like to take all of your money here. And not much to show for it. ?

Grrrrr. Not looking forward to the government extras. At least we get the $7500 tax credit. Not many CA EV credits left. ☹

There is one, a $750 dollar rebate that dealers take at time of sale. I’ve sent the information to Rivian to see if they are going to participate but have not heard back yet. So far the R1T and R1S are not on the approved list. I know they are eligible because Tesla vehicles are on it. It is not a lot but would cover most of the registration fees.

That’s a relief! It didn’t come across as one to me. Emojis are helpful when making jokes and conveying emotion online. :like:

Yea. That’s seems to be the only one left.

Our guide specifically asked if we wanted them to drill.

That’s such a good catch. I do not want holes in the front. No front license!!
You're going to run the truck without one or do you have a different approach?

I’ve had 2 cars so far without a front plate and never been pulled over for it in 10+ years (in King county) so I’m going to keep going with it. I don’t really feel like it’s enforced.
